First off, a technical detail: this knife is made in Pakistan. Apart from the poor-quality stigma attached to some other Asian imports, I have found that the quality of Pakistani-made knives in recent years has improved, and this Jungle Bowie knife is no exception. As soon as I picked it up I was impressed with its heft, strength, and sheer down-to-earth functionality. Too often it happens that when I get a new knife I feel almost hesitant to break it in... Not with this one! Tough and mean, it's craving to be used and abused.

The Jungle Bowie's parts are strong and sturdy, all put together tightly - this knife is practically unbreakable! For all its impressive size, it has great balance and does not feel clunky or cumbersome or heavy at all when I hold it: a crucial point, considering that it's nearly 18 inches long! For practical knives, their weight and overall feel decide all, and this Bowie passes with flying colors. In fact, it is my favorite Bowie knife of all time. Its wooden handle has just the right thickness and curve to sit comfortably in the palm of a hand; my hands are not that big to begin with, but even for me the grip is secure, snug, and confident.

Let me clarify one point: this bowie knife is made to perform and work hard, not sit around on a collector's shelf gathering dust... It is meant to be a handy survival/working tool (it's practically the axe, saw, and knife all in one). Given its size, it is simply not meant for small delicate tasks where concentrated minute precision is necessary, so make sure to allow it plenty of space (I think this is the simple common-sense point that the negative review below failed to consider).

This is a descent knife for the money and you do get what you pay for. Now when the knife arrived it wasn't that sharp at all so be ready to sharpen the thing. This is a cheaply made knife but then again it was only $24.00. The sheath is a piece of crap but that doesn't matter since its just supposed to hold the blade. The handle on the knife is a piece of hard wood which looks good but let me tell you it is not comfortable when you put the knife to use. For being a cheap knife it is put together pretty well. Now i tested the knife out in the yard to see what it can really do and it is worth the money. I hacked with it, sawed some small trees down, hammered some nails in with the pommel and i used the knife to dig a bit too. The knife is made to work by hacking, hammering, and sawing. This knife is not a pry bar and it is not a throwing knife and it is certainly not a toy. Over all this is a pretty descent knife for the money so if you are looking for a good, cheap, large intimidating bowie knife made for work then this is the one for you.

This is a very sturdy, strong and big Bowie knife. It has been built to withstand a lot of work and overwork. It is a good tool and in some cases can become a good weapon (for self defense only, I hope). It can also become a beautiful ornamental piece in a knife collector's showcase. A really great knife.

This knife is amazing! Around a half an inch thick, it cuts wood like no other, and the sawback is amazing! I cut through metal with it, and the blades barely dulled! If you want an awesome, super sturdy, and sharp knife right out of the box, you want the jungle bowie!

The knife looks cool but is not practical. The balance is off however my biggest complaint is that the handle feel off as the fastening design is ineffective over the long term.

This knife begs: "Please chop down the forest with me!" And it does. This knife takes an A$$ kicking and keeps on keeping on. I have to hand it to the packistanie people. They make a good knife. And not just a knife this thing is a short sword/uber machedie. It's all you need. Bring this a multie tool and a lighter.

I just butchered a 3 inch thick tree with this thing and ow man what a rush. The tree had to die anyway because it was in the way of my trail. The advantage of going from a 9 inch SOG to this is worth it. Even though it uses older tech. The older tech is tried and true.

I really like the hole in the blade for attaching a lanyard of 550 camoflauge paracord to. You need it because this beast likes to keep going once you give it momentum.

You can hammer with it and baton on it.

Surgical steel.

Easy to sharpen after beating the crap out of the woods for hours. leave the ax and saw at home! This does both!

IT HAS A FUNCTIONAL SAW ON THE BACK OF THE BLADE!!

The geometry of the blade makes this knife an excellent chopper.

When you attach a wrist lanyard you get a very deadly short sword that can not be dropped if you are say punched in the face and momentarily black out. It's good that it can hold a lanyard so you always have a weopon. THIS IS A NICE WEOPON/CAMPING/HUNTING TOOL!

CONS: I would not throw this knife because it may not be full tang and would probably break if it landed by the handle.

Does not come with chainsaw! lol

Seriously guys if you are going camping bring this. It will be your friend.
