DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PART & SELLER!!!
I ordered this item after I found a broken piece of plastic in with ice cubes dispensed. I did my research on the GE website to make sure this was the right part, and it was. This item is a direct replacement part for GE or Hotpoint ice-maker dispenser. Replacing it was not hard. Just keep in mind that when removing the old one, there is only a plastic nut holding the auger & blades in position, AND THIS NUT IS REVERSE THREAD! So make sure to be careful when removing it, and keep all the blades & white washers in position, so you don't forget how they go back on!!! Shipping was fast & item arrived in great condition!!!

I noticed a big piece of plastic auger had broke off and was on my cup while getting ice from my GE fridge (model: GSS25WGPA BB). I bought this item and quickly google on how to replace the auger. Luckily, there is a great video on youtube and you may search by typing WR17X11705 and click on the 1st video search you get (approx 13 min long). Just follow it through and 20-25 min later (I was taking my time), you'll have a working and clean (since I decided to clean the insides) ice machine! You won't regret getting this replacement from amazon and save money instead of going through GEappliances, as it's the product you'll get, just cheaper!!!

The auger in my ice maker broke (just 3 years old) and left pieces of plastic in my drink glass.
I purchased this auger to replace the broken one, seems to be working properly (do not understand why they are made of plastic instead of metal). My husband was able to replace without too much effort (there are YouTube videos to help with installation if needed).

It was a great fit, only problem is that it didn't come with instructions but luckily my husband is very handy and was able to install it. I got it quickly and also it was so inexpensive. Getting it directly from GE coast more than 1/2 of what I paid. I will definatley purchase this from this vendor aqgain.

If you don't mind the frustration of figuring out the puzzle to replace this part it will save you lots of money in labor cost. BTW... this part is twice a much $$$ elsewhere. Likely why you are here. Tools needed: 3 flat head screwdrivers and 2 pairs of pliers.

Cheaper than other web sites. Also a video can be found which describes and shows in great detail how to replace the auger and other parts.

When ours broke, we searched the internet and found this replacement auger. Installation instructions not very good but found a wonderful video on utube that showed step by step instruction on how to replace it.
