About the Brand

Kraft has come a long way since 29-year-old James L. Kraft moved from Ontario, canada, to Chicago and started selling cheese to grocers from a horse-drawn wagon. In fact, the story dates back further, since for more than 200 years, many companies have united to make Kraft Foods what it is today. It started before the Revolution--in Dorchester, Massachusetts--when, in 1765, a local physician, Dr. James Baker, went into partnership with a young Irish chocolate-maker, John Hannon. It was America's first chocolate mill, where, in 1780, they made a blend of quality chocolate called Baker's chocolate. Baker's chocolate was the first of a long list of companies that have joined Kraft Foods, Inc., in making good food for busy families.

In 1988, Kraft became part of Philip Morris Companies Inc., and a year later Philip Morris Companies combined Kraft and General Foods Corp. to form Kraft General Foods, the largest food company in the U.S. Some of the most popular and well-known brands in the Kraft family include Maxwell House, Yuban, Oscar Mayer, Breakstone, Grape-Nuts, Jell-O, Post, Minute Rice, Cheez Whiz, Cracker Barrell, Tang, Cool Whip, Shake 'N Bake, Stove Top, General Foods International Coffees, and many, many more.

It was so great to find this product again! I am not a traditional coffee drinker and I love cold coffee drinks, like Starbucks Frappucino!! This far exceeds spending four bucks for a drink. Better yet, you can make it at home and it's even great for on the go. Please continue to keep this in stock because you can't find this in grocery stores anymore. I just love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars driving right past starbucks now!, August 27, 2008

okay, these are not quite like a starbucks frappachino. they don't cost anywhere near $5.00 for a 24-ounce cup!

flavorwise, you can make them as plain or as dessert-like as you wish. one stick made with just ice and water will be granita-like, sort of just a coffee/latte slush. made with ice and milk, it is richer and creamier. but with a little more creativity, you can make it taste just like a frappachino, except not so airy -- this is a real drink, not a bunch of over-priced air bubbles. for a milkshake, make it with ice cream and milk.

i get creative each day and add a little chocolate syrup, plus a shot of some other flavoring such as hazelnut or crumbled oreos or whatever. hint: girl scout mint cookies are a truly great addition to the basic french vanilla flavor.

you may enjoy them just as per package directions, but really, the drinks you can create are as thick and satisfying as you wish to make them! i stick with just ice and water, rather than milk, so that i can add any additional flavors i choose without running up the calorie/fat count.

best of all, even after i spruce them up with whatever suits me each day, i figure they cost less than $1.00 per 24-ounce cup.

no grocery store in the seattle area seems to carry these, so please, amazon, keep them in stock!!
