Included are 22 comprehensive, test lessons in five major areas of general science, accompanies by over 150 reproducible student activity sheets to help student understand concrete scientific applications that are interesting and relevant. Each lesson includes a concise introduction to a specific topic, reproducible vocabulary games or puzzles, reproducible lab activities and projects, and complete answer keys.
And for easy use, all of theses ready-to-use lessons and activities are printed in a spiral-bound format that folds flat for photocopying of all student activity sheets and organized into five units, each focusing on a different area of the science curriculum:

CHEMISTRY: Lessons covering fats, surface tension of water, hair chemistry, and anthocyanins provide activities like "Home-made Hair Perms" (lab mimicking process of creating a permanent wave) ... and "Recipe for Proteins" (DNA modeling activity)
BIOLOGY: Lessons focusing of the blueprint of life (DNA) the basic unit of life, changes and adaptations, tree growth, and ecology feature activities such as "Who Lives in Out Trash?" (composting and food chains) ... "Dead Ringer" (lab on tree growth) ... and "Monstrous Mutation" (lab on effect of mutations on animals' survival skills).

worth the $$ if you teach general science,

The book is spiral bound so it is easy to photocopy. I have used about 10 of the activities. All activities have a answer key. What I like is there is a section of content for the student to read before completing an activity. All activities are hands-on. I have a general science class and I have used the activity on moon craters. Students actually create craters in flour. Students perm pieces of hair in the chem. section. I do protein synthesis activity with bio. I do an acid/base activity using cabbage juice. I use the activity for earthquakes. If you teach astronomy to biology there is an activity for you. Materials are inexpensive, too.

Great for science teaching and project ideas grades 7-9... if you have higher level or younger kids, you need to do some serious modifying.
