General Tools 141ME Pocket Caliper

I use a caliper to measure skin lesions in a medical office. A digital one is too big (not pocket friendly) and the precision would be over-killed. This caliper fit the job perfectly: small, light, double unit (inch/cm) and most of all very affordable.

I am extremely unhappy and dissapointed with this product and how it is advertised. I look at the picture of the product and see a metal caliper. and for over $8 it should be metal, plastic ones run abundant in the $3-4 range. I open the box and voilah!! PLASTIC. I cannot vent my frustration over this clearly enough and can't believe Amazon or the seller would try to mislead people to this extent. Please remove that picture.

I did not realize this was plastic when I ordered it. To me this makes it kind of expensive. Plastic has many advantages - no corrosion, not easily bent when dropped, lubrication or protective oils are not required so I'm not too disappointed and for my limited amount of use durability is not a problem. Outside measurements are spot on. Inside measurements, however seem to be about 0.4 mm shy. I wish it had a shirt pocket clip.

This a a very handy tool to have around and well made.
Was a great bargain when i bought it for a few dollars.
