3 Sawzall Blades, 6 Driver Tips and a Sturdy Multi-tool Handle,
By
This review is from: General Tools 86014 14 piece Quad Saw/Driver (Tools & Home Improvement)
This amazing tool sells for something like $9.99 and includes that much in blades and bits. The handle is pretty impressive, too. It is sturdy, holds the blades ok as long as you keep knocking the drywall dust out.
Comes with a very handy belt-mountable case for the handle, the driver-adapter, and all your blades (the case accommodates 6 blades, and the handle uses standard sawzall blades -- I refilled my setup 3 or 4 times before I finally lost the tool -- and immediately bought a replacement!). The quick-change blade-lock makes this tool great for an electrician, cutting holes in drywall, plaster, lathe, baseboard each with different blades, all on the same job -- sometimes all for the same outlet location! More important than interchangeable blades is that the blade comes off to shrink the length of the tool (some hand-saws don't fold up).

Hi, I'm a perfectionist when it comes to finding the right tool for the job. I'm an electrician and frequently need to cut precise holes in walls, usually cement like plaster, not just drywall, as most of the houses I work on were built in the '50s and earlier. This was about the fourth product that I've tried, and it works perfectly. For me the two most important features are that you can replace the blades with standard recip saw blades, and that the handle can be bent to provide better ergonomics when using it. Plus having a unit that is rugged and holds up to the demands of cutting through hard plaster and occasionally lathe strips is important too.
This saw works wonderfully. The twist lock mechanism that locks the blade in was getting a bit sticky, but I know that i could have used some WD-40 if it got too bad and that would have fixed it up, as there isn't much that WD-40 won't unstick. I lost track of my original unit on a jobsite just two days ago and feel bereft without it. I won't even buy anything else to use temporarily until this arrives because I haven't seen anything at the local hardware stores that even begin to compare. I'll lug out my recip saw in place of this until the new one arrives. Definitely worth every penny!

This is the second one of these I have owned and cannot do without it. Many uses. I lost my tool box recently that it was in and just had to have another one.
