This review is from: General Tools DBAR110 Digital Barometer with Barometric Trend (Misc.)
I bought this intending to track barometric pressure to see whether the pressure effects my migraine headaches. The weather station displays the time and date, indoor and outdoor temperatures (with the outdoor temperature being transmitted from a battery operated remote sensor), the humidity level, whether the barometric pressure is rising or falling and a forecast for the short-term future (rainy, sunny, cloudy etc). The package was shipped promptly and received when promised in good shape. The weather station was easy to set up, but it gave no direction on how to interpret the barometer. After playing with it and watching it for a few days I figured out how to read it but in reality the barometer only shows whether pressure is rising or falling - not what the pressure currently is. For example, the pressure could be very high but if it falls from very high pressure to somewhat high pressure, the display only shows that the pressure is falling. There was no way to tell whether the pressure was falling to somewhat high or very low. Maybe there is a way to read the pressure more precisely and I don't know how to read the barometer, but that could also be addressed by better directions in the packaging.
The second issue I had with the weather station is that the remote sensor can be no more than 10 feet away from the base with a clear line of sight between the base and remote, or else the base doesn't get the signal from the remote sensor. The remote sensor was advertised as having a range of up to 100ft. Sometimes when the remote sensor is right next to the weather station, the station doesn't get the reading from the remote. Also, when the remote sensor and the weather station are right next to each other, the temperature displayed on one is up to 2 degrees different from the other. So in reality the station didn't do what I wanted it to do, so I decided to return it. The seller and Amazon were both very easy to work with during the return process, and they refunded my purchase price and shipping cost promptly.
