These files are just the right size and type for removing `flash' and mold lines off of plastic and soft metal hobby miniatures and models. And they come in all the shapes and contours to smooth out just about any work piece. However, they do manage to collect quite a bit of filed plastic & metal dust in their grooves. I recommend a good wire brush as a cleaning accessory.

This set's also a pretty good value. I've seen other hobby file sets that cost just as much or more than this one, and have only six or eight files.

My girlfriend uses them to trim mold flash off her miniatures. She says they work great for that task. The only thing she didn't like was they were oily when they arrived. I don't think they can ship any other way to prevent corrosion.

This file set has been working great for me. I've been using it to work on my latest project, assembling an R/C Helicopter. The sides of the frame are made of Carbon Fiber and the Swiss Pattern of the "file teeth" work great in smoothing up sharp corners, enlarging hole slots, etc. Highly recommended.
