This review is from: Generals And Majors (2001 Digital Remaster) (MP3 Download)
This album sounds like Todd had something to do with it. At least two songs.. But that didn't occur until Skylarking which I've heard Todd Rundgren and Andy Partridge were reaching for each others throats making faces like something out of a Bill Cosby Conniption. I wonder if that's why XTC made "Dear God". Anyhow, in the music video for Generals and Majors you can spot "Richard Branson", yes, the richard (and soon you will all be wearing gold plated diapers) branson. Anyhow, Branson riding a a go-cart!! The song I got from this CD (via Amazon mp3 download) was "Sargent Rock", then I fell for Generals and Majors.. Not to mention all their music is available on Rhapsody, but you can't get a mp3 download from Rhapsody.. That's why I love Amazon and quit my subscription to Rhapsody.. That and Youtube, which provides the one thing I want.. Music Videos.. Though presented as promotional material for CD's, I think the idea is backward.. Videos are the content I want to buy, not on DVD's, but as downloads.. To put on my Samsung T9.. Backwards Marketing.. Huh.. Well
Get XTC because its good for you and Andy Partridge is so juxtaposed and real, he's like the pointy stick in the music industry with a lyrical tip sharper than modern day Elvis Costello. But this is 80s Hippie Rock.. Tears for Fears, Beatlesque ripple effect.. And no TMBG, I don't see Adam Ant anywhere in the neighborhood of XTC, what was the point of that song? XTC is #$%#$! great music, this is the shhh... crap.. This is the real crap!! Oh that doesn't sound right.. This is the stuff.. The stuff!!
