4.0 out of 5 stars good breaks that will have you moving
DJ Icey goes a little bit off the beaten path of techno in that all of his samples are not technically samples, but recorded lyrics by Christian Ford. While I like 'old school' samples like used by the Wiseguys, this album still rocks. The best track is probably "Not a Test", then maybe "Can't Stop this Track." 3.0 out of 5 stars Not A Bad Buy If You like Good Dance Tracks
Generate has about 4or 5 great songs that make this cd worth buying, but the rest of the cd isn't all that great.

5.0 out of 5 stars the bomb, for dancing fools, April 15, 2001

I was at a rave in N.O. a few years ago and rabbit, icey and many others were, but Icey tore up the Palace. He was by far the best. No one else has such and ear for the funkiest beats. He brought the Palace back on their feet. And "Eased the Roll Back Up" if you dont have it get it. If you havent herd it hear it. If you love to house, ROLL the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Sums It Up For Ya!, May 30, 2000
This review is from: Generate (Audio CD)
Well, I have don't know how I can explain Icey's sound. He is the only DJ out there with this type of sound. He has the best beats I've ever heard. Maybe his girl Baby Anne is the only other DJ kinda like him. You've just gotta get it. It's like no other.

Well know you do. I'm from Miami and this is a great cd I have all of them and all have been great in one way or another. Dj Icey is the electronic god and there is nothing more. But to tell you the truth you have to see him in live to love it. He plays in Miami at Mission with Baby Anne and you just feel like danncing for as long as you can. You just sit there and you become tranced witht the beats and the laser show become one with the music.

This is a tremendous blow-up cd. Don't compare it with others; just enjoy it. Listen closely too, because the beats and sounds have a lot of texture and taste. It will move you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Acidic Breaks that groove, March 17, 1999

DJ Icey is trully the king of breaks. This album shows off DJ Icey's range of skills, but most importantly, it gets you dancing and puts a smile on your face. See him live to trully appreciate his talent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dj Icey knows how to groove, January 30, 1999

The break beat Dj Icey is back with a killer album of his own breaks. A Galaxy of breaks indeed! The first two singles ("Not a Test" and "City of groove") released from this album gave us a taste a few months back of what to expect from the iceman, But still they didn't prepare us for the antigravity of "Can't stop this track" and "Acid Conga" And the vocals from Mystro ( Christian Ford ) are outstanding! Breakbeat lovers, this is a must!

4.0 out of 5 stars golla luv it, March 3, 2006
This review is from: Generate (Audio CD)
This was probably one of the first 5 electronic cd's i ever bought in the late 90's and the breaks are so raw that i still play them at my club. They are a bit too minimal to be heard alone now because it is mostly drums (probably a 909) and synth so i usually play it over top another track and it ALWAYS gets a good reaction. Its exceptionally good over a trance track that is lacking THAT special somethin'.

If you like raw bouncy emotional breaks this is a must have for your collection and it is one of the few old breaks cd's that are still relavent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta roll? Gotta have it!, June 13, 2000
This review is from: Generate (Audio CD)
A raver's classic! My friends and I go clubbing all the time and hear the latest trance and techno. But when we continue the party at home, this is always the CD we break out to get us back up! Just when you think you're 'done' for the night-throw this in and get ready to bring the beat back up til it hits ya!
