phil woods, grady tate, kenny burrell. my favorite jazz record (next to lester young with billie holiday, or django) for endless listening. this record is a pure joy. it was out of print for over a decade. the lp went everywhere for over $50. a year ago this was in print as a cd for $9 but "for charlie". this import is twice the price, but at least it's still in print. and this is the original cover art too. gorgeous seductive alto sax and kenny burrell never sounded better (and i've bought every cd he's made). and the rhythm section swings big time!

This review is from: Generation Ago Today (Mlps) (Audio CD)
This recording was released domestically in 1986 as "For Charlie Christian and Benny Goodman" with 3 additional tracks that were not on the original recording. It's still obtainable and substantially cheaper than the imported "A Generation Ago Today".
