5.0 out of 5 stars Better the 2nd time around
I purchased the first book Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt a while back to use with my students, and we did quite a few projects out of it and my students really enjoyed it. On a whim, I purchased the second book for myself and spent 12 hours the next day tearing up t-shirts and turning them into new, fun, useful things. This book still has many ways to...

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit dissapointed...
The designs are great... but I really thought there would be more for actual girls wardrobe. Its really more practical uses like... oven mitts... not the best, but great for the price I got.

This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
This book still has many ways to alter t-shirts into other wearables or "better" tops (some of which were in the first book) including a chapter specifically for the guys, but it also goes beyond wearables to things you can make and use around the house, in the car, for your kids, for your pets, and some great accessories. I have planned out half of my christmas list from ideas provided in this book, especially because its cheap, easy, and a lot of fun for me to make. If you're torn between the first and the second, I'd suggest Gen T 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars A DIY Must Have, January 19, 2010

This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
As a serious DIY clothing repurposer, I ordered yet another book, hoping to get a few projects from it. I was blown away by all the useful things one can do with a T-shirt. Not only are the projects presented in a way everyone can understand, but she gives you tips on how to hand-sew, make knots, weave, braid, etc. Everything from fashion to home furnishings and crafts are featured. The variations on each project make this book great for both the beginner as well as the experienced DIY enthusiast.

Her first book was great, I have to say that this one is even better! for beginner's thru talented crafter's there is something for all in this book, fun hip girl stuff and if your guy has out grown his favorite vintage/ band/sports team shirt there are ways to transform it for him into a brand new cool shirt, save money on kids clothes by transforming their favorite too small to wear pieces into the cutest dresses or romper outfits and soft toys, pet toys and outfits made from your t-shirts! household linens, bags, scarves, the list goes on and on.... the book is worth more than the $11.00 it costs, you will save a bundle redesigning your t's into hip outfit's. Here's the best part, the diagrams and instructions are so easy to follow and you do not even need a sewing machine for the projects. This book has color photo's too, Get this book for yourself or a holiday gift for any-one that sews, knits or crafts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly better than Megan's first book, September 10, 2009
This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
More great t-shirt recon ideas, with an even better variety than Megan's first book. Great, easy-to-follow instructions. You absolutely do not need to be an expert seamstress to make these projects. Be aware, though, that this isn't high fashion; it is a ton of fun, however.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun ideas!, February 22, 2011

This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
This book is full of cute and fun ideas to refashion t-shirts. The fashion ideas are much cuter than the ones in the author's previous book Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-Shirt. This book also provides projects for baby gifts, which are especially well done. Also included are home decor items and pet projects. I am very glad I purchased this book! It has provided lots of sewing inspiration.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sister and I are slashing T shirts, August 10, 2009
This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
Very cool book. I have the first one too. Good instructions, minimal sewing experience is necessary for some projects. Makes me wish I had thousands of shirts to "remodel" because the projects are very fashionable.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you liked the first one you won't be disappointed, April 14, 2010

This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
When I started flipping through this I thought I was just going to return it because I didn't see anything I wanted to make. The author of the book is a small lady and she comes up with designs for small framed people. Also there were a lot of baby items which I have no use for and I wasn't really into the home decor items. But as I got further in there were some pretty cool ideas. If you liked the styles in the first book you'll probably find things you like in this book too. You just have to sift through some crap to find the good stuff.

My teenager daughter and I bought the First Generation book, and loved it. This one is better! There are more ideas, and lots of ways to springboard your own imagination. You will never look at a tee the same way!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent investment!, March 22, 2011

This review is from: Generation T: Beyond Fashion: 120 New Ways to Transform a T-shirt (Paperback)
I loved the first book and bought this one with a bit of hesitation thinking, "how many new projects will I get, there must be repeats?" Well, the 2nd book I like better than the first. Full of new projects and many which I can do quickly with my youth group.

It gets 4 out 5 only because some of the alternatives are missing a step making it a little more tough to follow.

I didn't think there could be even MORE ways to transform a t-shirt. Having worked with kids the past 15 years with our 4-H club, these two books (the original 108 ways and this one) are great! I got a huge bin of t-shirts and turned the kids (and some adults) loose to create. They had a fantastic time. They made scarves, wine bottle bags and purses. Now I have to try and get the book back from one of my 4-H kids who borrowed it after our crafting session! Is she really just forgetful? Hm, I wonder.
