Generation Indochine ~ or ~ Corporation Intervene ?, September 6, 2001

First I have to say that every song on this album is a gem, and it is a fine chronicle of the 20 year career of this group. I am sure that you can hear the evolution and growth in both the lyrics and musical style.
However, I still urge you NOT to buy this album which is part of a continuing legal dispute between the band and the record label. In a David & Goliath scenario the Parisians are taking on BMG who have never sought permission nor consultation with the group over this release, bizarre considering it's apparition on sale not so long after the last "best of" Unita ! Whether you take the side of BMG or Indochine isn't so much the issue, simply knowing that any profits from sales of Generation Indochine will be going straight to the pockets of lawyers instead of those who wrote the music, produced the songs, designed the sleeve, moulded the box, marketed the album and distributed the final product is enough to stop me from buying GI.
If you want to hear a broad selection of their work, I suggest you buy the sublime accoustic album Nuits Intimes. Pure talent.
