will.i.am strikes again!,
By Todd Ryan (Fort Collins, Colorado USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: My Generation Remix (feat. Will.I.Am & Slash) (MP3 Download)
I heard the piece of the remix on the Super Bowl commercial and looked for it. After seeing the proceeds went to benefit the disaster relief in Haiti, I was sold and decided to pick it up. It is absolutely awful! Please donate money to those affected by the tragedy and don't get this song. Will.i.am is rapidly becoming one of my least favorite musicians. Mentioning Haiti won't save the ridiculous lyrics in a complete dismantling of a classic song. Will.i.am please go back to ruining Hip-Hop and leave Rock 'n Roll alone.

WT?,
This review is from: My Generation Remix (feat. Will.I.Am & Slash) (MP3 Download)
Pay $1.29 for hack job on classic rock anthem? I don't care if it's for some relief effort. Not going to pay for this kind of stuff. What arrogance.

I own the original "My Generation" vinyl single, but I like this new version by Slash and will.i.am as well. I recommend buying both versions - both have value. I like the original better musically, but I also appreciate this new version and its timeliness.

Disecting The Who,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: My Generation Remix (feat. Will.I.Am & Slash) (MP3 Download)
There is no question about the imprint The Who had made onto classic Rock Music. They had showed that heart and soul with the fierce drive they've been known for all these years. But when I heard there was going to be a new rendition of My Generation, I really wasn't so surprised that it was going to be a noble cause, the victims of Haiti. Yet, the new remixed rendition with Will.I.Am and Slash feels more like it is honestly a waste of time. I really felt that the chemistry that Pete Townsend, Roger Daltrey and company had originally shown with the soul of the song had somberly been destroyed. All in all, if you want any to download My Generation, you're better off with the original one The Who had been known, and that is honestly the generation that keeps on playing.
