An enviable quartet, regardless of ages.,

This review is from: Generations (Audio CD)
Bassist Ray Drummond and drummer Ben Riley are among the most esteemed elder statesmen on the New York scene. They have been first-call sidemen for, well, a generation at least and have collaborated as 2/3 of the Kenny Barron Trio. Along with Mulgrew Miller and Steve Wilson, they represent four decades of jazz. None of these may be familiar names, but once to listen to them, you will start scouring the jazz record bins for the hundreds of albums these musicians are featured on. Check your collection, you may already be a fan and not even know it.
