This fits the GSM version of the phone (i9250) and WILL NOT WORK with CDMA or LTE equipped "Galaxy Nexus" hardware. I used this to repair the international world phone GSM version and it was exact and works perfectly, and brought a dead handset back from the grave.

NOTE: If you haven't done small electronics repair before, the Galaxy Nexus isn't where you want to start. The circuitry is small, there are many small clip-on ports and wires, and they must be removed in order and replaced exactly or your phone will not survive the repair process. Teardowns on the i9250 are available online that will help, but a beginner should seek the assistance of a pro if they expect to get a working phone out of this repair.

The tool pack included does have a small Philips-head screwdriver and a plastic pry-bar which are all you need to take this phone apart. The only other tool I needed was a pair of needle-nose pliers to detach the small circular battery from the board. It is stuck down using a light glue film, as are many other parts inside, and care must me made to remove it before removing the main circuit card or you may inadvertently break the solder points on the battery wires; the teardown I looked at online for reference missed this and broke the battery away, so don't trust that they did it all right and BE CAREFUL.

For note, my failure followed the phone being drowned in my pocket during a thunderstorm downpour that caught me by surprise during a photography shoot. The phone didn't show any problems until I plugged it into the charger in the car, and the port as well as the cable burned when power was applied. Following this, even with a new cable the phone wouldn't draw power for battery charging or properly ID on a computer USB port. This part fixed all issues.

My Galaxy Nexus was getting very annoying to charge. You would have to prop up the cable in different ways and there was no guarantee you wouldn't wake up to a dead phone! I bought new cables and tried different brands but I knew it was the USB port on the phone that was bad. I love my phone even though it's 18 months old so I looked on youtube and saw that it was fairly easy to replace the port.

So that brings me to this product! I received the package today approximately two weeks after ordering it, I knew it would take awhile since it's coming from China. Package contained the new port and a phone tool kit all for ~$8 shipped! I used the included Phillips screw driver to remove the screws and the non-scratch pry tool to split the phone open. The pry tool also works to undo all the little ribbon cables holding the mother board in place. The old usb port was pried up (it has sticky tape on it) and the new one put in it's place. The new one comes with new sticky tape, just peel and stick it in the place of the old port. Careful during install as there are little nipples that align with little holes in the usb port that need to be carefully lined up as it is pressed into place.

To sum it up the kit had everything I needed to fix my phone and now it charges like new! I used canned air just before reassembly over the camera to get rid of any dust introduced during the process.

Thanks A1store! and Thanks Amazon for saving me $350 on a new phone for $8!

I switched out the part with no issue and the usb charging port worked as intended, BUT it broke my cell reception- I re-checked connections and did a factory reset, but no matter what I was stuck with "no service." Switched back and my service returned, so the problem was definitely in the new part.

The phone is able to charge with the new part, but cell reception is broken. I've tried it with 2 different sim cards and it's able to read the sim just fine, but cannot get any service.

Also, the part number I was shipped is different than the one in the item image. The one shipped to me says SYGT-i9250, REV 1.6 LF-A G, 1249. But the one in the part description says GT-i9250, REV 1.6 LF-A G, 1143. (For reference, the part I'm replacing says GT-i9250, REV 1.6 LF-A G, 1152.)

I suspect the incompatibility is what prevents my phone from getting cell reception. When I install the original part I do get cell reception, but of course I can't charge my cell phone. I might try to solder the micro USB charging port onto the original part, and see if that works before I try to buy a new part on eBay.

Firstly - be careful with the volume flex cable. Many other reviewers ripped theirs, as did I. The volume board is stuck down with glue so i think you can gently pry that off before removing the main board. Most guides seem to be for other versions of this phone that don't have this flex.

I also had an issue with reception after changing the piece. Apparently the USB flex port influences the reception so I opened it up to double check nothing was incorrectly connected an i noticed a small connector was missing in the bottom right of the ribbon (labelled ANT102). Not sure if this broke off while I was first putting it in or if it was a bad part. I broke off the piece from the ribbon I'd taken out and stuck it on with a speck of glue. Seems to be working now!
