I ordered this replacement hose for my Dyson after calling the company directly and finding out they can't sell to customers in New York State due to tax complications. Dyson referred me to a business called Factory Direct which could sell it to me, but the price was $20 more than Dyson's $39.xx. So I purchased this item on Amazon expecting it to be--as described--a 'Dyson' DC07 hose.

When it arrived I realized that this is a generic replacement part, not made by Dyson. Though I returned it because I wanted the genuine article I have to say the quality is very good--not quite the level of the Dyson manufactured part, but certainly an adaquate and functional replacement.

The color didn't match though. The yellow parts are simply bright yellow and not the Steel-Yellow of the vacuum. I would have preferred if they made that bit simply gray instead because the color difference made it look cheesy.

BOTTOM LINE: Though this part is not of equivilant quality to the same by Dyson, it will work just fine. The yellow plastic section is not made of as rigid a plastic as the Dyson, and the color doesn't match, but if you don't care about these things then this is a good replacement of more than adaquate quality for most applications. I don't know if it would stretch the length of a stairway repleatedly as well or as durably as the Dyson hose, but otherwise it will probably hold up just fine.

Received this in the mail and was excited to put it on my dyson. It didn't fit AT all the removable wand part nor did the buttons to release it work. Also at the bottom where it clips in the clip didn't work and the piece wasnt even glued together properly. I am returning it. I appears to be a cheap knockoff of a dyson part.

This item did not fit my Dyson vacuum cleaner, even though it was advertised as a suitable replacement part. The release buttons for the vacuum wand were too small to operate properly, and I plan on returning it to the vendor.

I have a yellow DC07... if yours is yellow and your hose is broke this is what you need... the older style... not sure if it fits the newer style... but i'm sure that's a different number. Laying them down side by side, the only difference is the color or the "release" button on the side of the hose that is not yellow and big... the original one is yellow and the new one is grey... the same color as the hose... but should not be a big deal.... not sure why this gets so many bad reviews... its identical as the original minus that button, same rubber gaskets, side, hose, types of plastic.... really only that one button...

works great... really... and if yours doesn't... leave it why as a reply to this message... seriously... I'm not going to nay say... I'm imagining that the sellers that sell the 50 dollar hose are playing games with bad reviews...

My replacement hose was shipped and received promptly. However, I was frustrated that the hose would not stay connected to the vacuum. Over the course of a week or two, the condition worsened. At about the time I figured I had totally wasted my money and was sadly contemplating purchasing a replacement directly from Dyson, I received an email from Crucial Vacuum asking me to leave feedback on the product. I replied to the email (not even imagining my reply would be read) and explained my concerns. I received a reply within one business day. Long story short, my complaint was investigated, a new part sent to me (which works), and I am now a happy camper. Total time elapsed: one week. Excellent company to deal with. Thank you.

This item is well worth the $15.00, rather than $40.00 thru Dyson. Dyson replaced my original hose for free. Their replacement was all grey (not a real Dyson hose), did not stretch as far as the original, and lasted less than 1 year. I figured for $15.00 this was worth a try. As stated in other reviews, it is tight fitting, especially the first time you install it. Once you've used it & stretched it out a few times,it gets easier to take off and put back on. I would buy this item again.

I can't speak for any of the other vacuums, but if you have the DC-07, this will work for you. It fit ours fine. It doesn't look exactly like the Dyson replacement part, the colors are a little off, but functionally it works perfect. Same O-ring sets all around, so the sealing is the same. Just a quarter of the price. If you have a DC-07, you won't be disappointed.

Pros: The hose was cheaper than the genuine Dyson one. It seems to slip easier on and off the wand when you extend it.

Cons: CHEAP plastic. One time my Dyson tipped over and the hook which holds the electric cord broke off. Now I have nowhere to wrap the cord! Also, it's not the same yellow color, but that is just a cosmetic issue.

It is too big to allow the wand to snap back into place. I wasted $26 on this, and have since ordered a real Dyson hose from their website.
