This does not come with a a/c adapter, that's why I didn't give it a five. I bought it for my grandma who forgets what day it is. There are some very pricey devices and this one was not, plus, the changing colors makes her smile, so it was worth the risk for me!

I live in a nursing home and there were no clocks in the bedrooms. To make matters worse, I am unable to wear a watch because of my size. I get very disoriented when I don't know what time it is. I couldn't get a clock with an electrical cord because there were no available outlets by my bed, so I needed something battery powered. I needed something with big numbers, This not only had that, but it also had the day, date, and the temperature. For the price, it was just what I needed (considering it cost less than $5.00!) Unfortunately, 3 weeks later, it fell off my nightstand and it never worked again. I don't know how much longer it may have lasted, but it was good till the end. I will miss it.

I bought this for my 10 year old grandson who has trouble getting to sleep. He loves it. There is only one problem (and why I only gave it 4 stars). It is run by batteries. When he uses it to go to sleep,it runs all night. Needless to say, it goes thru a LOT of batteries. It does have an outlet to plug in an adapter, but it is VERY small. Not at all a standard size. I just happened to have a plug that fit so I didn't have to buy one. Unless you have boxes of old adapters, like I do, you will want to buy one.

i was expecting the color to change every hour but it keeps changing every 2sec :) but its a cool product.
