If you have a vertical drill press, this is a great set of diamond hole saws. Works great for cutting out the holes for pipes in marble tile, slate, etc. Comes in a nice little case to keep everything organized.
If you are trying to use these with a regular hand drill, it isn't easy. Unlike wood hole saws, there is no pilot bit to stabilize and center your hole. Since there is no pilot bit, there is nothing to hold the saw against slippery marble or ceramic tile. If you just try to go at it, the saw will walk right across the front of your work and ruin it with huge scratches. To avoid this, you have to VERY CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY seat the saw edge into the hole by running the drill super-slowly. It is hard to tell when you reach the point where you can turn up the drill and just power through. Definitely practice on some scrap pieces before you try doing this with actual work you want to keep. You can get the hang of it eventually, but it takes a little time to master the technique reliably. Once seated, they cut through even thick stone with no issues and they don't seem to overheat quickly. They seem reasonably durable, and with light use they should last quite a while.

I used the 1 1/2in size to enlarge the hole in my granite counter top to accommodate a new hot water tap that replaced a soap dispenser. I first cut a 1 1/2in hole in a piece of plywood, taped it to the counter that drilled away while my wife sprayed cold water at the bit to keep it cutting smooth. All and all I would say the bit worked very good, great for the money.

I bought this hole saw set because it was an unbelievable price and I trusted the reviews. I was not disappointed. One name brand professional bit can easily cost what this entire set costs! My first test was to cut a hole in a granite kitchen counter top. It did so flawlessly.
As another reviewer wrote, the hole saws do not come w/centering bits (some of the bits are too small for centering bits anyway). This is easily overcome (as the same reviewer wrote) by making a template out of plywood (Use a wood bit to pre drill a hole of equal size in the plywood). I used two sided tape to stick the plywood to the granite and a sponge to keep the bit wet and soak up the slop. I don't think the bits will last forever cutting granite (for the price I would have never expected them to) and they bottom out at about 1-3/8", but it is certainly nice to have a pretty varied assortment of bits that you can trust to make accurate holes in stone or tile.

I used the drills to make a hole in Travertine tiles and used a V shaped board to help center the drill, since it does not have a pilot drill. It worked great, better than what I had expected.

Like another user, I used the 1 1/2in size to enlarge the holes in my granite counter top to replace older faucets and install 2 new hot & cold water faucets.
I also first cut a 1 1/2in hole in a piece of plywood, taped it to the counter & drilled away while spraying cold water on the bit to keep it cutting smoothly. Admittedly, I was surprised how well the bit cut. Good item for the money.

All I can say is the diamond hole saws were exactly what I needed. I have only used 3 of the saws. The ones that I used were on porcelain tile and they provided a nice clean finish. I had to make a template out of wood to place on top of the tiles to keep the saw from skipping. But, that did the trick and it helped hold in a little water as well.

I own a plumbing co. I have to drill holes for various jobs, a surface that used to give me trouble was porcelain tile. I bought these with low expectations because "you get what you pay for". To my surprise the bits worked very well. drilling through ceramic tile is like drilling through sheet rock. the bits don't have a pilot bit, but neither does the professional grade bits (core drilling bits). The trick is to use a high speed drill, start the hole with the bit angled on a 45 and slowly tilt it up until it scores the surface. let the bit do the work, too much pressure will cause it to run and damage the bit. These bits are well worth the money.

I cut three holes each with two of the saw bits. They cut the holes thru 1/2 in granite. The cutting edge showed considerable wear with just the three cuts. I got what I wanted from them in the short term, but I doubt they would be acceptable for everyday/extended use

These holes saws worked very well. I cut a 2 1/2 hole through granite with no problem. Just have to remember to use a guide to keep the blade from walking.

I used this tool to make a bigger hole on a quartz bathroom vanity countertop. I trusted the previous reviews and I must say these drill bits work great for home jobs. I have had to drill thru hard surfaces (ie:porcelin tile and concrete) before with other types of drill bits which took hours and unsuccessfull outcomes. I must say these bits drilled thru 1 1/2 " thick quarts like butter-2 min flat. I used a regular drill-nothing fancy and occasionaly sponged water on the bit as it drilled. I also used an helpful tip posted and drilled a hole in a 2x4 for a guide until the bit dug into the counter. I highly reccomend it for the price and small jobs. I am woman and doit yourselfer with no expierence. this was my first time drilling thru quartz.
