About the Author

Sister Bridget Haase, O.S.U., is a member of the Ursuline Sisters, and holds an M.A. in religious studies. She has ministered in Appalachia, Mexico and Africa. She presently serves as coordinator of the spirituality program at The Boston Home, a long-term care facility for people with multiple sclerosis and other degenerative neurological diseases. She gives parish missions, days of reflection, and inspirational talks throughout the United States. She has written two other books and published many articles. She sits on the Board of My Sister’s Keeper, a faith-based justice/peace organization to work for the education of women and girls in southern Sudan, and is a frequent guest on Boston, Chicago,Milwaukee, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh radio stations. This book will make you smile, probably make you cry....but it will definitely make you a better person. This book is life changing....a terrific read.

Sr. Bridget's writing is profound and sensitive. She helps us discover the wisdom in every day life and the wonder in simple people. The book is filled with understanding of people who yearn for a good life. Lessons we can all learn from the people she met.

I recommend you read this book in the quiet of an afternoon. It will keep the sun from setting.

Wow! What a fantastic book! Sr. Bridget's stories were constantly giving me cause to pause... and to recognize that "I've been there!" though the people and circumstances were radically different. This book has the grace of reminding the reader that though the people are different, we have all known a Bird, an Aisha, a Wynn, a Buster and a Rita T. To read this book is like doing a "lectio divina" on one's own life. I recommend it unreservedly.
