This product was NOT featured on Dr. Oz.
Krissy
This product was priced high in my opinion, probably because of the publicity it received from the Dr.Oz show.

This product did not seem to help with weight loss.

I've gotten a little frustrated trying to find any real reviews of this product ... do a Web search, and it seems as if the first 8 zillion pages are companies trying to sell the product or thinly veiled "testimonials" for the same.

So I'm going to take a little time to report my experience (so far) for anyone who understands that losing weight is hard and requires effort, and is wondering whether taking this extract IN ADDITION to making that effort will cause the weight to come off faster, or at least prevent one of those motivation-crushing plateaus.

Like many people, I've struggled with my weight all my life. I'm 45, female, 5'6", and currently trying very hard to get my weight and my cholesterol numbers down. I have not reached menopause, and my bloodwork says that I am not diabetic, pre-diabetic, or insulin-resistant. Five weeks ago, I embarked (at 206 pounds) on a serious commitment to improve my diet and increase my exercise. A week or so in, I saw the infamous Dr. Oz episode about the green coffee beans and weight loss.

I was (and remain) skeptical. The "celebrity nutritionist" doctor interviewed about the coffee beans on Dr. Oz's show (Lindsey Duncan) is a cofounder of the very company that manufactures this specific brand of the product ... a "conflict of interest" that was very easy information to find on Dr. Duncan's site, but that I don't recall being shared with viewers of the Dr. Oz show. That left a bad taste in my mouth, for sure.

Also, the original "study" quoted was of an extremely small sample of people.

I think these help lower cravings and for that reason I'm glad I tried them. I have a bad habit of waking up in the middle of the night like clock work to get a snack but after a week of taking these capsules regularly I noticed that I didn't feel the urge nearly as bad to get out of bed and go downstairs to get a snack. They do not really help with energy or weight loss other than eating less calories in the middle of the night. I lost 1.5 pounds in the two in half weeks that I took them for. I then started taking raspberry ketones with them and lost another 2 pounds in the following week -Green Tea Extract 60 Capsules (500mg) + FREE 50 Grams Raspberry Ketones Powder. I do not eat terribly good but I do exercise semi-frequently. The ketones give me a noticeable energy boost so I would recommend taking them in the morning or before working out. I take the green coffee bean extract twice a day. Each serving is two capsules so your looking at four pills a day.

I just got these pills based on Dr. Oz show (he's the new Oprah when it comes to creating product shortages). Rather than paying $30 + $5 shipping I did some "creative Googling" and found them elsewhere. A LOT cheaper at iherb dot com. I bought 8 bottles at once and paid only $19.80 per bottle. Even at 1 bottle at a time they $21 with free shipping. Plus I found a $5 off first order coupon (MAV970).

Since these were on the show they have been jacked up 30%-50% by most vendors. I have also found that the doctor, Dr. Lindsay Duncan, who was discussing them on Oz's show coincidently is also the CEO of the company who manufactures these pills (Genesis Today). Did some "linkedin" searching and found that info. This made me very skeptical about the pills AND Dr. Oz. AND Dr. Lindsay Duncan. However despite that conflict of interest, desperate as I am I gave them a try.

As for "do they work" I have been on a 1400 calorie a day diet (I started at 257 lbs & am 64yrs old and very sedentary due to arthritis) and after 10 weeks WITHOUT THESE PILLS lost 20 lbs. I continued on the same diet for the next 2 weeks WITH the pills and lost almost 6 lbs. So I seem to have gone from about 2lbs a week loss to 3lbs a week loss at least for the short term. Nothing else changed. I'm very skeptical about this stuff but starting to be convinced.

I also use a website called (...) to track all my food. They also have an iPhone and Android app which is great as their website and mobile apps all sync up. The apps & website are free but you have to put up with the usual advertising on the mobile device but it is pretty benign.

Just so you know this exact product was featured on Dr. Oz, I don't know how much more of an endorsement you can get if Dr. Oz has this product on his show and is singing it's praises. He doesn't "endorse" a product meaning he doesn't get paid to tell you that something is good for you because that would be a conflict of interest. I'm not here to tell you that he does/does not get paid to "endorse" a product, but I can tell you that he does in fact say he doesn't.

I gave it a 5 because I have used this product and it does work as advertised, also Dr. Oz did his own test on his show and the limited testing showed that it did work as advertised, however in my opinion you shouldn't take such a short study into account, there have been other studies done to substantiate the claims, in fact a 12 week study showed that people lost 10% of their body weight without doing anything differently.

How does this work? According to Doctor Oz and his guest: "Participants took capsules and did nothing else and lost 10% of their body weight with no side effects. This study lasted 12 weeks. Chlorogenic Acid is what causes the effect...it causes the body to burn sugar and fat in the liver, it slows the release of sugar into the blood stream, without that you don't have sugar turning into fat. So it burns and blocks and stops fat while staying natural and safe. 800mg 2x per day, before meals with a large glass of water."

Chlorogenic Acid is burned off when the coffee bean is roasted so you can't get the benefits through coffee roasting.

How can you post reviews on here if you haven't tried the product? You based your negative review on the fact that Dr. Oz says he doesn't endorse any product. However, I will commend you for posting your reasons for the negative review! ;0)
