5.0 out of 5 stars Great intro bow for family
We bought this bow so that the whole family could use a single bow and it does deliver on that promise. It is not a junky toy bow. We specifically went with the Pro for the extra power on the top end, and I am glad we did. At first even the lowest setting seemed too strong for my wife and 7 year old son. But after they played with it a bit and got used to the movement,...

There was no rest on the bow for the arrow to rest on? I do not know why this wasn't included and do not know where to buy one. Bow cannot be used till I have this piece. It is a simple screw and notch for arrow to rest on, why would this not come standard?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great intro bow for family, May 13, 2011

We bought this bow so that the whole family could use a single bow and it does deliver on that promise. It is not a junky toy bow. We specifically went with the Pro for the extra power on the top end, and I am glad we did. At first even the lowest setting seemed too strong for my wife and 7 year old son. But after they played with it a bit and got used to the movement, they did much better. Again, I am happy we went with the the Pro model.

The main drawback (no pun) to all the Genesis bows is the large brace height (distance between the handle and the string). That means that smaller archers cannot get enough pull to generate power, regardless of how strong they are. My son also has a Diamond Nuclear Ice with a much smaller brace height. Even though we set both bows to the same weight, he gets a longer draw and more power from the Nuclear Ice. The arrows fly flatter and sink deeper into the target. BUT, he can't share the Nuclear Ice with anyone else because it's set to exactly his draw length.

So we are very pleased with the Genesis Pro. It's a bow the whole family can grow into and use for years. That makes it a very worthy investment, in my mind.

I'm a little bummed that this bow isn't stronger, but it works great for what it was designed to do, throw an arrow pretty accurately at a target.

i attached a lot of stuff to it, would recommend not doing that at first, get used to the bow first...
