5.0 out of 5 stars Genesis: Turning it On Again
This box set on the history of Genesis is fantastic. The series on the Peter Gabriel years is well presented and provides deep insights into the band's creative process with this songwriting genius.

Unfortunately for all of us Genesis fans seeking high quality video archives, this is not the gold nugget you have been hoping to unearth. In fact it is a lump of coal. Unfortunately for all of us Genesis fans seeking high quality video archives, this is not the gold nugget you have been hoping to unearth. In fact it is a lump of coal. This DVD is similar to a bad blind date. You build it up to be a great time and it is so bad that you feel like running out the door when it starts. But you keep watching hoping for the one clip that will justify spending $25 on it and it never arrives. A complete waste of an anticipated pleasure. Unfortunately for me , I bought Turning It On Again afer having already bought Total Rock Review and The Gabriel Era book and two DVD set. While the Gabriel Era is a great presentation package and probably worth owning for that reason, the quality of the video clips in all these DVD's is terrible, the sound quality of the tidbits of live clips is unlistenable and there is no information of any value whatsoever in these horribly gone awry blind date DVD's. To add insult to injury, the interviewees are know nothings and nobody's. Avoid !

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont buy!!!, May 9, 2008
This review is from: Genesis - Turning It On Again (40th Anniversary Edition) (DVD)
Don't waste your money. You only see very short clips of concerts( 30 seconds to a minute) or video's. The rest is just critic's talking about Genesis. Complete garbage!!! Don't take it somenoe offers it for free.

I bought this before I knew When in Rome was the live version of the last tour, thinking this was it. It just jumps from Duke to Calling All Stations, with the host saying he didn't like the popular period of Genesis. Maybe so, but it's hardly definitive if you drop out the era that most people know.

I should have take heed to the last writer, but I am a Genesis head.
I wish they would put out a true DVD a Genesis history, without these same stupid "buck teeth" english "editors" and music critics, that are just telling me nothing I did not know. This is ,not even a terrible, but horrible presentation of this excellent band. All they do is talk about the same crap ,Charter, how the band members got to be etc.. There are no
exiciting things to watch either. Very small sections of them playing.
but you we to look around this stupid border to see anything. Poor quality, poor packaging. I could do a better job, giving the public
some very interesting stories of Genesis. Please do not to buy this.
A nice DVD I thought was The Genesis Songbook DVD, very nice. So I guess
Genesis has nothing else to give is except a live CD from Europe, where
Collins has to sing a third down, because he cant hit the high notes and these stupid 'HYBRIDS" Cds. Man ,I think it is time to close the door
and enjoy the memories of this great band. Too,bad. If the were to be together we dont they make a new studio CD? Well, enjoy the past my friends ,I dont expect anything anymore that is going to pull out my credit card for. Again dont waste your time.
