5.0 out of 5 stars Geneva Saga, February 12, 2002

The McGillinen family is wonderful! This book is funny, warm, romantic with plenty of adventure and face paced action. Braden loses his heart to Kerry who is as kind as she is beautiful. His son Benett, by his first marrige, is adorable. Kerry's protective big brothers are funny and tender as they hover over her not too sure about the 'Brit' who has stolen her heart. The villian is wonderful and it's a laugh a minute when he gets what's due him. A must read...I couldn't put it down!

5.0 out of 5 stars Red Rose Romance Reader Reviews, August 17, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Geneva's Hope (Paperback)
ISBN 0595207146, Title: Geneva's Hope, Pages: 387, Author: Payton Lee, Genre: Historical, Main Characters: Kerry McGillinen and Braden Wessex. Also the entire McGillinen Family including the Shoshone camp. Overall Quality: My favorite type of reading. Plenty of Humor, action, romance, good dialog and solid characters with unique plot. Story Plot: Kerry meets Braden Wessex and English Lord and his son, Bennett. It's love at first sight for Bennett and then his father Braden, a widower. A jealous suitor and governess do everything in this story to control their destiny, but a shaman Shoshone prophet had foretold this future and good wins over evil. Especially when three brothers unite to keep Braden straight and protect their sister. They go from New York, to Ely to Great Britain, back to Ely. The Action never stops.
What I liked: I like it when Native people are portrayed as they really are, not hollywood stereo types. I like the hook, action, and plot. What I didn't like: I liked everything. When I finished her book I wanted to buy more. This book made me feel like I was right there with Kerry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved This Book, June 4, 2011
This is a series of six books that follows McGillinen's Grady the father and his daughter Kery and three sons Ryan, Ayden, and Dwayn and a few of their offspring. Note you can read these ebooks for free on several different websites so save yourself the money and search. I would have gladly paid the $6 for each book that is how much I liked them. They are keepers.

Geneva's Hope was a good mix of Historical Old West and Regency England both of which I like and read. I recommend reading the entire series in the order in which it is presented below. This book was filled with just enough of everything for a good romance novel. Enjoy.

Geneva's Hope Book 1 Kerry McGillinen meets Lord Braden Wessex and his son, Bennett. Theirs is an immediate attraction. However, both must conquer their own secret fears, a jealous suitor and a psychotic nanny. A story that is a real page turner about the Old West.

Geneva's Branch Book 2 Ryan McGillinen sets off to build his own dynasty and discovers an Indian Maiden that takes his heart and soul. Twiggy, known as Oak Twig by the Shoshone, has a secret. A secret she is afraid for anyone to find out, that is until she gives her heart to Ryan. A story that will make you laugh as Twiggy discovers Ryan's world, and cry when Ryan and Twiggy face her past.

Geneva's Return Book 3 Ayden McGillinen follows his sister and husband to England. He is designated heir apparent to the English holdings and assumes the title of Marquis. Paige meets the Marquis and literally falls for him. Unfortunately Paige was raised by an interferring mother who insists there is no such thing as love in a marriage or merger as she puts it. Ayden has to fight his mother in law, an old foe, and years of influence to bring happiness to his heart and wife.

Geneva's Promise Book 4 Breena had a crush on Dwayne McGillinen since childhood. All that must end as she begins a new life in Washington City as assistant to a newly elected Senator. Dwayne has always been the handsome McGillinen. The one who could have any woman he wanted. He wanted only one. He went to Harvard in hopes of being accepted by the one and only woman in his life he ever wanted Breena & Dwayn McGillinen.

Geneva's Force Book 5 Brock Hampton well known rake in England visits Geneva's Hope with his good friend, Bennett Wessex (Son of Kerry & Braden Wessex Book 1). A follower of Ch'i and Qi Gong he brings peace without violence. He also loses his heart to a woman named, Aurora Blue McGillinen daughter of Ryan McGillinen & Oak Twig (Twiggy) of Book 2.

Geneva's Legacy Book 6 The end of the Geneva Saga and McGillinen family with the story of the beginning. Grady McGillinen meets Ashley Stuart. Together they start the McGillinen family history and loves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Saga, March 28, 2002
This review is from: Geneva's Hope (Paperback)
The characters become part of your family early in the book. The book contains as many twists and turns in the plot as the number of cities Kerry McGillinen and Braden Wessex find themselves in. The book portrays the late West and the people that lived there. The story contains philosophy of the Shoshone tribe. With the drama there are plenty of laughs. It is a book that is a real page turner.
