Higher coolness factor than golf ball & string, but not necessarily better value,

This review is from: Genie 9575L-BP Laser Parking System for the Garage (Tools & Home Improvement)
As previously noted, you need one of these per garage door opener. Two lasers are included if you have a two-car one-door garage. I have individual doors, so I had to use two.
Installation couldn't have been easier ... - peel and stick the controller to the side of the garage door opener motor - peel and stick the laser in a location where it will be able to shine down onto the selected location on the dash - hook up wires and plug it into the outlet in the ceiling (I re-used the two twist-ties that were on the included wires to tie everything up neatly) - park the car exactly where you want it and aim the laser at your target It took about 5 minutes for each door. A few comments about the product: - As already mentioned, it's too bad that you need two units for a two-door garage. - The RCA connectors make installation easy, but do not provide a secure, reliable low-power connection. I had to bend the tabs in to get a consistent connection, and I'm guessing that I will have to clean the connections periodically as they oxidize out in my garage. - The wires on the lasers are too short to permit laser installation on the ceiling if you have high celings, which in that case forces you to install them on the opener motor ... not a problem in my case bcause my cars are fairly short, but I'm guessing this will make them unusable for some folks. - These have a higher coolness factor than a golf ball on a string (and are much less intrusive when the car is not in the garage), but IMHO this product actually isn't as effective for the intended application because you can't see the laser until it hits your dash and by then you might be too far left or right to make the required correction. Because I now have an extra laser for each unit, I'm thinking of installing the second laser to serve as a directional guide that will hit the target while the car is entering the garage. (Note: my original idea of installing a fog machine was nixed by my wife ... [heavy sigh]). My bottom line ... a bit pricey for a two-door garage, but if you use your garage for other things, and/or if a ball on a string will get in your way, then this is a useful tool.

First reviewer was right about the garage door. Well, he/she did not comment whether it works or not if your garage has only one door like me. Installation is easy if you follow the instruction, I don't trust the sticker that comes with the package, cause it gets to 120 degree during the summer time in my garage, so any stickers would deteriorate rapidly. Therefore, Drilling is my option, since laser is 360 degree, so drilling spot is not hard to pick. I did use my hammer drill as the interior wall is concrete. You do need to calibrate the system the first time you use it. I consider myself a handy person, so I am overall satisfied for the product at this price range.

What a miserable piece of junk. Installed it, and it seemed to work when I'd tap it.
Then I tried to use it with just the garage door opener. Didn't work. Moved it around a bit on the opener, but it still didn't work unless I tapped it with my finger (or a broom stick). I wouldn't waste my money on this, mine's in the trash.
