Now, I have the ability to flip on the garage door light without opening the garage (the light only stayed for 5 minutes). So, YES, I like being able to turn the light on, seperatly. The buttons are illuminated in red. Plus, you can lock/unlock the buttons (stops the kids from playing with the buttons). Installation was simple - took like 2 minutes. Honestly, this is most likely a one-time purchase for me because I can't see it breaking or malfunctioning any time, soon. All in all, I'm happy.
UPDATE: Two years exactly, the lockout switch is failing. Button lights come back on after switch is activated, and doors will operate in locked position. Unit mounted light will sometimes turn on by itself when unit is locked. Unit still works fine when not in lockout. Price is now in the $15 to $20 range, should have ordered one then, but I ordered another anyway, still best wall console for my opener.

Replaced 23 year old original Genie door opener. Unlike the original, the back is not covered, but it's not needed. Read morePublished 24 days ago by Tony Q
AWESOME. Bright light, you can deactivate the wall unit to stop from functioning, you can turn the garage lights on and off. Very well built!Published 1 month ago by Badcobra
I guess these wear out over time, the current one would sometimes not close the door or it would close all the way then Seconds later open it back up. Read morePublished 4 months ago by BLACK12SILVER
