Instead of spending $200 on a new opener, I spent $1.75 and 20 minutes and got my Genie Screw Drive working again. Tips on replacing: disconnect screw rail with door open so you can lay the rail on top of the door. Use a ladder with at platform that you can place the motor head on after you disconnect it from the ceiling. Watch your wires when you are moving the motor head around - so you don't pull any out accidentally. When you remove the old coupler, (it just pulls out) make sure to remove any debris left inside the hole it goes into before you put in the new coupler. Reconnect the screw rail to the motor head before you mount the motor head back on the ceiling - easier to align the holes the bolts go into. Make sure you remount the motor head straight so that the screw rail is perpendicular to the garage door. If your door starts and stops after you replace the coupler, you need to adjust the force screws on the motor head.

When your garage door opener is making noise like it's running but the screw drive isn't turning, this is your part.

This part works, just wish it came with the square foam pad pictured along with it as that should be replaced along with the coupler. I found a local garage door parts store I will likely use instead in the future so I don't have to wait for it and also pay crazy shipping price.

This small coupler joins the screw drive & motor, if something binds, the plastic insert gives (so it's actually the clutch). When everything is working properly you don't give this part a thought, until the garage door doesn't open. With the high price of gas, also living in Oakland, driving around to look for this part is a concern. Amazon Prime is a lifesaver, convenient & fast, I always keep a spare.

The delivery time was great. When I received it, I installed it and the door works great again. Very easy to install.
