Perfect Replacement for ALL Genie Safe-T-Beam Openers,

During a recent electrical storm, a close lightning strike took out a few electronic devices in and around our home. One thing I noticed was that my Genie garage door opener was no longer functioning. The light would come on but the door would not go up or down. I checked the little LED lights, located on the Safe-T-Beam sensors by the garage door, and noticed that the red LED was blinking in a reoccurring pattern. I went to the Genie website and checked their support page. I was delighted to find a useful troubleshooting guide, which utilizes the LED lights on the Safe-T-Beam sensors to diagnose potential problems with your Genie garage door opener. This handy troubleshooting guide can be found here:http://www.genie-garage-opener.com/safe-t-beam-troubleshoot.html The guide helped me determine that my opener motor and electronics were OK but one or both of my Safe-T-Beam sensors were bad and needed to be replaced. I almost purchased the replacement kit from the Genie website but decided to check Amazon.com first. I'm glad I did, as I found the exact same kit at a much lower price. The Genie 34094R Garage Door Opener Replacement Safe-T-Beam Kit is the same as the previous 35048R kit, and is the perfect replacement for every Genie garage door opener that utilizes the Safe-T-Beam sensors (all models manufactured from 1995 to current). This easy to install replacement kit includes the following items: - Both Infrared eyes/sensors (one with Red LED and one with Green LED) - Two Safe-T-Beam sensor mounting brackets - Bell wire for connecting sensors to opener unit (approx. 100 ft. of wire included) - Mounting hardware (screws, washers & nuts) for brackets and sensors - Installation instructions I did not need to replace the wire, as my previous wires were still in great shape. I found that I was not able to use my existing sensor mounting brackets, as the new Safe-T-Beam sensors had a slightly different mounting method. Luckily the 34094R kit comes with new mounting brackets (and everything else you would possibly need to install the new sensors). The installation instructions are very easy to read and understand, and provide several illustrations to help make the process simple. I had the new sensors installed in about 20 minutes and my Genie garage door opener was working perfectly once again. The 34094R Safe-T-Beam replacement kit is a genuine Genie service item and contains everything needed to replace the Safe-T-Beam sensors on all Genie garage door openers manufacturer on or after 1995. It is easy to install and works flawlessly. The cost is very reasonable and I highly recommend this product to anyone with a Genie opener that needs one or both Safe-T-Beam sensors replaced.

The product description is inaccurate (ONLY the sensors are included). My system was about 14yrs old and used a different style sensor that uses a totally different mounting system for the newer sensors. The good news the old and new sensors are compatible. I only bothered swapping out the defective sensor. I was able to craft a mount that would not be easy for most to do.

When we bought our house the garage door would open but it wouldn't close unless I held the wall button until the garage door hit the floor. After doing some research online I found out that this problem was associated with the beam sensors and sure enough, when I checked them, no light was shown on either one; so I bought this beam-sensors-kit on Amazon. The kit comes with plenty of cable included; my old cable looked in good condition but I just decided to replace the whole thing (and still had left over). It took me less than 30 minutes to install the sensors and cables. The provided instructions are more than enough for you to know how it works and how to install. When placing the brackets I just used the holes in the wall from the previous brackets (had to use the brackets that came with the kit because they were different from the previous ones I had). I went with the option to wire the green sensor to the red sensor and then from red to head unit because that is how it was before I replaced the old ones; so I ended up with two sets of cables in the red sensor, one running to the green sensor and the other to the head unit. Worked right after everything was connected and power was back on.

I received the product within a few days. I was very unhappy that only the sensors themselves came. I was led to believe that it was a full installation kit including the sensors, brackets and wire. The buyer is misled to believe this. The sensors did work but I still have yet to purchase the brackets and wire to properly install the safety beam sensors.

The Beam photo Eye safety kit saved me money. I had an overhead door rep tell me, that the reason for my overhead door was not working was, that it needed a cicuit board that was bad and I needed to have a new door motor installed which will cost me $350. I took a chance on ordering the kit and was hopeing it would fix my problem the kit cost me $22 and what a great find it fixed my door. I am very happy that it saved me hundreds, thanks for the fast shipping.

Unlike other reviewers, I did not receive wire, brackets, or anything else besides two sensors. The sensors were the same as the pictures. There are two screws on the back of each sensor for wires. What a waste of 5 bucks shipping when I return it. Should've went with a kit that offered prime shipping.

I just replaced my defective Genie photo cells with the help of this kit. I did not even need the included cable or mounting brackets but simply swapped the cells out and reconnected them. It literally took me five minutes for everything, and it could not have been easier or more convenient.

Had a "haunted" garage door that just went up and down by itself - so irritating since I love to park in the garage (it is safer and easier to control three boys in the garage rather than the driveway!) haha!!I had called the garage door companies and was almost ready to pay the $180 charge to get this replaced. But, being the cheapo that I am - unwilling to pay for something I can do myself, I went to Amazon and found this! The reviews are right on! It is easy and fixed my garage door! No more chasing three boys down the street! |
