Works with older intellicode 1 openers
on May 14, 2012
I would have given this unit 5 stars if programming out of the box would have been as simple as doing a search on the internet. None of the instructions found were able to get it to program. I finally had to call Genie and they told me very easily how to program the unit. Of course they're not open on the weekends so I had to wait. The control comes default with the top 2 buttons as intellicode 2 (they light up green when you press them). The bottom button is intellicode 1 by default (lights up red). You can however change whichever button you prefer to use to intellicode 1 by holding down the button until the light shows a mixture of green/red, about 10 seconds, then press the button 2 times. It should change to red (intellicode 1) after that. After that you then press the learn button on the actual opener and then press the remote button, on intellicode 1, firmly four times. This should do the trick for anybody using an older opener.
