This review is from: The Genius of China: 3000 Years of Science, Discovery and Invention (Paperback)
Printing, Compasses, and Gunpowder were the key inventions that enabled the renaissance. The Chinese invented these and much more. This book is a distillation of Professor Joseph Needham's massive 13 volume "Science and Civilisation in China." It is a fascinating science history.

Amazing China,

This review is from: The Genius of China: 3000 Years of Science, Discovery and Invention (Hardcover)
This book is a wonderful summary of Dr. Joseph Needham's 27 volume history of science and technology in China "Science and Civilization in China". It covers the amazing work done by Chinese scientists, mathematicians, doctors, etc. for the past 2300 years. It provides timelines showing when a discovery or invention was made and when the western world did the same. An example is movable type. China developed this 400 years before Gutenberg. China developed hormone therapy 2200 years ago, 2100 years before western medicine. The book is fascinating to read with a WOW! on almost every page.
