In a Bud Powell market full of box sets and strange compilations, this volume comes very close to being an ideal starter for those unfamiliar with Powell, who want one CD with some of his finest work. A very nice cross section of Roost trios, Blue Notes and Verves. I can't even argue too much with the track selections. Recommended.
