I purchased these speakers for my classroom to use with my computer for presentations and for movies. They don't take up too much space and they are easy to use. They store easily, also. I highly recommend them for use in a classroom. For your living room, use itunes and airport express.

I use them at work. Sound is good even most of the way up. Power cord is longer than you would expect on cheapo speakers. I can plug my ipod into them thru a port on the front.

An really unexpected pleasure. Hook up did mean informing the computer of new hardware but if you get past that point they are easy and have great sound at a very inexpensive price. Highly recommend if your PC speakers give out.
Genious gives good customer support.

I got these speakers to replace an older set that failed. The sound quality is OK for the price. The power supply is in the right speaker, there is no external power brick, and the AC cord goes straight into the speaker. I have a traditional CRT monitor, not the LCD flat panel, and the power supply in the right speaker generates enough of a magnetic field to interfere with the CRT display, causing distortion. I swapped the speakers with my other computer, which has a flat panel LCD monitor and they work fine. Don't get these if you use a CRT and want to place the speakers within 12 inches of the monitor.

Not the finest speaker available, but a good value. It does an acceptable job with our computer. We use other means for fine listening.

Good speakers for the price. I bought them for a close friend's pc at work and they're a hit.
