I've been using 5.10 products for decades. The soles always held up, the weakest link has always been the uppers. I bought the Genius Trail Shoe and the Camp 4 approach shoe. I've used the Genius for weekly hiking and saved the Camp 4 for real approaches to climbs. The Genius is cut large. I would recommend getting a 1/2 size smaller. After a year's use, the toe box of the Genius blew out, but I fixed it with Shoe Goo. Fortunately, I got them on sale for 1/2 price. I'd buy them again on sale, but I wouldn't recommend them for over $60. The Camp 4 shoe fits great - I'm planning to use them for some peak bagging.

Five ten makes great shoes period! This model was no different, but I had to make some adjustments. One was to disconnect the toe (front of shoe)lacing. It seemed to allow the front of the shoe to relax and spread a little, enough to avoid the "crammed" forefoot feeling.I have narrow feet, but this shoe is a little too pointy in the front and it can be annoying if you don't make the change of skipping the toe lacing as I mentioned above. The other thing I should mention is replace the insole. It is thin and consequently doesn't customize to the shape of your foot to give you that snug and personal attachment that one expects from his or her own shoes.
