I like the size and how it fits my hand.

The Energy mouse comes with a microUSB cable that is used to charge the mouse itself, but it can be reversed to change anything with a microUSB port.

Overall, as far as concerning a wireless mouse, I do love it.

The product concept is simple. If you're a laptop user, sooner or later you will want to invest in a mouse. And if you're already carrying a mouse in your bag, why not make it an emergency charger as well? The only possible downside is of course weight. But I am very happy to say that this mouse made the right compromise in that department. The mouse feels solid, definitely has a bit of heft, but it is not heavy. Using it as a mouse, I have not felt like it is strange. In fact, I rather like how it handles. It's a wide, flat, good looking mouse. The USB connection to the computer was flawlessly simple. The scrollwheel is smooth, the buttons are crisp, the movement is precise.

As a charger it is only 1A, which is slightly disappointing. It will take a while to charge the bigger phones. Out of the box it comes with a handy mini USB cable, which is very handy. It can both be used to charge the mouse, and also - when you reverse it - be used to charge your mini USB device.

I don't think it's a mystery as to why some people may find this useful. This is a back up power source. Being integrated with the mouse just makes it one fewer things to carry around with you. If you don't care about back up power, you're not going to be interested in this. If you don't need a wireless mouse, obviously you won't buy this. But for a short business trip out of town you simply don't need to worry having no power on your phone.

I also found this handy around the house. Being a cordless power supply, I can charge my USB device while I use it away from an outlet. Maybe it's on the coffee table in the living room, maybe it's outside on the patio, it's useful for a quick charge.

The Genius about this mouse is that you can charge it at one end and use it as a dongled wireless mouse all you want but, if your phone ever needs a charge boost and the mouse happens to be around and there's a charging cable handy then you can charge your phone off the mouse. Hmmm... I wish my shoes were done that way because it's a lot more likely that I wear shoes when my phone needs charging than that I have a mouse around.

Other than that, it's a decent wireless mouse. Worked with Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers and, to my surprise, it even worked with our Chromebooks. You simply plug the dongle into the USB port and you got a working mouse. The 2700 mAh battery does not seem to add a lot of weight and the mouse handles well. It seems to fit slightly larger than average hands and it has a right-hand bias even though I should be useable left-handed as well. I liked the rubberized sides.

You can use the charging port to store the dongle when not in use which makes the mouse almost self-contained. The micro-USB charging wire can be used to both charge the mouse off a standard USB charger (not included) and to charge any phone or rather 'anything' that can be charged through an micro-USB port. And you should be able to charge devices that require a mini-USB interface if you provide the proper cable.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Genius Wireless Energy Mouse is a nice wireless mouse that is useful for laptop users who want to take an external mouse on the road and it offers a little something extra with the ability to provide some power to your smartphone.

First, let's start with the mouse. This is a basic wireless mouse with an optical sensor and a relatively high DPI (1200 DPI) setting which is good for high-resolution screens. If your PC has a low-resolution display then the cursor/pointer will move VERY when you move the mouse. Unfortunately, the DPI can't be changed for low-res screens but most modern desktop screens and laptops have 1080p screens nowadays.

The bottom of the mouse it "okay" for mobile use but I would have liked to see bigger/wider glide feet on the bottom so the mouse could more easily slide over desktop or mouse pad surfaces. The micro-sized USB receiver is nice because it pops into a USB port on your laptop and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb ... so you can leave it plugged into your laptop when traveling.

Now lets move onto the "Powerbank" function of this mouse. The Powerbank is rated at 2700mAh which means it's not particularly powerful. In simple terms, when my iPhone 4s was down to minimal battery power (red) I was only able to get the Energy Mouse's Powerbank to charge my iPhone up to around 50% (+/- 15%). The same goes for my ASUS MeMo Pad 10 FHD Android tablet.

Bottom line, the Powerbank inside this mouse is just meant for "topping off" your smartphone or tablet or is meant to provide "emergency power" to your smartphone. It's not capable of completely recharging a device from almost zero battery power to full. As long as you understand and accept that limitation the Genius Wireless Energy Mouse is a pretty nice travel mouse.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I was very excited to choose this product from the Amazon Vine. It was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review. The energy mouse works well as a mouse - no complaints there - but I was really more interested in using this product for recharging my phone. I have a smartphone and use it frequently so it often doesn't make it through the day without recharging.

Unfortunately, the energy mouse did not work well consistently as a charger. Sometimes it would charge my phone to 75% or a little more. Other times I'd be lucky to get 40%. The amount of time I spent re-charging the charger didn't make a significant difference. It's possible that I was unlucky enough to receive a defective product, but these are the results I got.

If you are mostly looking for a wireless mouse that travels well, this could be a good product for you. If you are mainly looking for a wireless, portable charger, I suggest looking into Power Rock chargers.
