This book was a gift and I think I will buy it for several of my friends. The story is spell-binding and very deep. The only drawback was that at times the grammar and spelling were a distraction. I loved the details however and the concept is actually more non-fiction than fiction. I hope that the "talented tenth" realize who they are and step up to the challenge put forth in this and similar books.

This book was remarkable...it absolutely changed my life. The story is a must read for all black men and women. Although this is a fiction book it is enlighting on so many levels.

I had a copy of this book years ago and traded it in by mistake. After ordering this copy via Alibris and finally reading the whole book I found myself a little disappointed. The overall plot was very interesting but the various pieces of the mystery fell into position a little to simplistically. I wanted the author to expand and expose more about how the character migrated from a totally European based mentality to a need to join a subversive militant organization. There also has to be more related to how the secondary characters just happen to fall into the main character's transformation. If you read this book ask yourself the one question: Why can't love overcome racial inequality?

Over all it's a pretty good suspense ride and warrants a sequel just to see where things go after the triangle tattoo....
