Gentle Breezes,
By A Customer
This review is from: Gentle Breezes (Paperback)
Gentle Breezes by Jan Gunnels is a most remarkable book. It warms my heart to open a book such as this and find within its pages such beauty and simplicity that is so foreign in today's world. As I walked with the adult through the initial pages, I was drawn back in time to when I was a child, peering thru broken windows, in search of what had once been. As I began this search, I found myself holding hands with the 10 year old child, walking and talking, laughing and crying all the while, rediscovering the "child" within me. I would highly recommend this book to children and adults alike who are not afraid of feeling, not afraid of laughing, of crying, of rejoicing in the experiences of life.

Gentle Breezes is one of the most charming books I have ever read. Dr. Gunnels takes those of us who were fortunate enough to grow up in the wonderful age of the early 50's back in time. Things were still innocent and life was so simple and undemanding except for hard work and love and obligation to family. For those who are younger and weren't lucky enough to know this time,it will give a glimple of that life and of what it was like to be a child when things were simple and the main thing in our lives were the loving influence of family. I am so impressed with Dr. Gunnels' first effort that I am looking forward with great enthusiasm to reading the many books that I know she can and will write in the future.
