Lawrence Schoonover did it again with this superb historical novel about the Ottoman Empire and its inhabitants struggling with changing times during the turbulent 15th century. A master story-teller, Schoonover's books are the best in edutainment- educating under the very effective guise of superb, enthralling entertainment. It's history at its most credible and unforgettable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting historical fiction in 15th century middle east, October 3, 2008
The author gives an exciting and detailed account of the fall of Christian Constantinoble to the Turks in 1453. Well researched and written, this exciting story gives the reader an inside look at customs and political intrigue in Turkey. Characters are well developed and you won't want the story to end.
