I've been playing myself to sleep with this CD for about five years. It's a perfect blend of gentle rain and gentle (original) meandering music. No distracting sounds or sudden shifts in volume. I've tried a number of "rain" CDS and not one comes close to this one.

I love to listen to this CD when I go to bed or when I want to relax. It drowns out the sounds of my neighbors and helps me unwind. There are no bird calls or other distracting sounds just the soothing sound of rain. It's a must have for those who have difficulty sleeping.

I love the sound of rain, especially when ready for bed, so I bought this CD. I was especially glad to have it when I began working night shifts: It masked the day-time sounds outside, and made day-sleeping so much easier. Excellent to relax and read with. I highly recommend this recording!!

The louder I turn it, the louder the hissssing. It's possible that it's meant as a part of the rain sound, but to me it sounds like non-stop hissssing. If it wasn't for that it seems like it would be very relaxing. Too bad!

Gentle Rain is exactly what the title says. You have a gentle rain coming down in the foreground while there is very light music in the background. Had 2 copies and both were removed by someone who liked it just as much as I did. Looking forward to finding copy #3!

I've owned this CD for over 10 years, and it was the best money I ever spent - back then it was $5 at a Michaels store. I still listen to it to this day, whenever I feel like hearing rain. The music doesn't overpower the pure rain sound as other CDs often do, yet the light music still adds something to the soundtrack, so that it's not as plain as just plain rain sounds (although I wouldn't mind that!). It is really great for relaxing, for people who simply love rain (like me), and for de-stressing, sleeping, napping, some nice background noise, etc.

My mother got this when I was a kid, and I used to listen to it over and over and over again. We lost it for a long time but I recently moved and found it tucked in with some of my stuff.

Since I found it (earlier this week) I've been listening to it pretty much constantly.

I have anxiety issues, ADHD, and occasionally problems with anger. While everyone is different, listening to this helps me calm down and slow down and get my head to stop running at a million miles a minute.

As such, I really do suggest this CD, if you can manage to find it - whether you have conditions like me, or you just need a little help calming down and unwinding after a stressful day.

I'm listening to this while I work at the computer. It's very relaxing. It is simply gentle rain, that's all. I love it! Some reviewers have written that there is music. This piece does not have music. Simply wonderful. One of the best rain pieces that I have heard.

i have been listening to this cd for 13 years, and it has helped me relax and get a solid night's sleep. also good for reading and relaxing in the bath.
