Product Description

"Gentle Visions" is a 30 minute preoperative relaxation videotape that I have produced in association with a Clinical Psychologist. I originally created the video for use by my own patients. It was so well received that I have started marketing it to hospitals and physicians. The response from patients who view the tape prior to surgery is one of effusive thanks and hugs for the doctor or nurse who cared enough about how they felt to provide them with the tape. It has been my impression that patients who have watched the video are much calmer at the time of surgery than I would have expected. There is certainly data in the literature to support the benefits of relaxation techniques prior to surgery. My videotape uses nature scenes, an original musical score and gently relaxing narration to lessen the patients sense of fear and anxiety about surgery. There is no hypnosis or subliminal message.

Patients are offered the use of the videotape several days prior to surgery and are asked to watch it at least twice before surgery so they are able to access the images and sense of relaxation when they are in the hospital, and during their recovery period.

This video lives up to its name. It is a Video of "Gentle Visions" and it has resulted in improved mental readiness and deep relaxation for patients who were about to have surgery. Post-op recovery time and required blood and anesthetics were reduced. This is a gift for both patients and medical staff.

I got this video from the Cancer Library nad learned it was to be used before surgery to relax you. However, I wasn't having surgery but dealing with cancer so watched it and found it to be a marvelous relaxing tool for the body. Several Doctors expressed to me the serious importance of relaxing and meditating on a regular basis, but I found it hard to do this on my own, however this gentle discussion of how to relax and some awesome photography gave me the relaxation I needed. I recommend this for anyone who needs to slow down and smell the roses in every day life. This tape can be found on the Internet for about $35.00.
