This book shows people who aren't flexible or impaired that anyone can do YOGA. It has unique quotes placed between chapters to inspire. Poses are shown, then modifications are pictured some are actually photos, others black and white drawings. I viewed this book, while in the hospital, it was helpful in regaining my focus on health and exercise.
The book is unique in it's style; It is very descriptive and encouraging to anyone to try and receive the benefits that YOGA offers.

This book was recommended to me by my yoga teacher and its terrific. It shows a variety of postures and explains their benefits. Having been recently diagnosed with MS I was looking for information on things I could do to help myself in addition to the conventional medicines and this book had reference to MS in it and how yoga can benefit those with certain diseases. The pictures are great as are the explainations. I highly recommend this book

I was looking for a book to learn techniques for elderly patients who have limited range of motion or are wheelchair bound. I was hoping this book was it. It was NOT! I read the entire book in an afternoon. No new information. She describes what causes MS, which is outdated now since this book was printed in 2000. I can live with that. But not really any options offered as for what I wanted. It was a waste of postage cost (price was 1cent) for me. I'll give it away or it will go in the recycle bin.

This book is great to use when trying to understand the different parts of yoga, it includes specific ailments and their descriptions, simple breathing exercises, and many different asanas are illustrated and explained throughout the book with easy to understand descriptions. It would be a nice book to give to someone who could use yoga to ease a specific ailment, i.e. handicap, ms, or any back ailment. It is also helpful to have on hand as a yoga instructor who will come across many students with varying health situations.

I bought this book for my Yoga instructor's library. She liked it. I also sent it to a friend in a wheelchair. The books were fine.
