I smiled all the way through Charlotte's and Henry's story in this delightful novella. The fun starts when Henry returns from two years at sea and Charlotte enlists him in her plan to marry a certain gentlemen she's never met. What happens next had me laughing and falling in love with these two well-portrayed characters. I also love the setting of high society Victorian New York, and look forward to the release of A Change of Fortune!

At twenty one, the mischievous Miss Charlotte Wilson fears of being a spinster. She prays for a future husband, specifically for Mr. Hamilton Beckett, to be it. The problem is that she has never met him and asks her dear friend, Mr. Henry St. James, for an introduction.
It was entertaining to read about her various schemes in trying to attract Mr. Hamilton. In the process they both realize their ideal future mate. I always enjoy a book when the author includes the thoughts of both the hero/heroine, like this book does.
Short and Clean romance with an excerpt to the following book, A Change of Fortune, in which the characters in that book are slighlty introduced here. It could have been a little bit longer but the price was fine for such a short story.
I an eager to read A Change of Fortune coming this fall!

"Gentleman of Her Dreams" was meant to hook us into Jen Turano's debut novel releasing this fall, and it did its job! Rarely have I laughed so much at the antics of two characters, or fallen in love with them so quickly. Turano has a distinct, quirky voice, and this short taste of her style left me wanting more. The biggest problem is waiting until November to read "A Change of Fortune!" Highly recommended.
