Benny Carter at his best!,
By Hiram Gomez Pardo (Valencia, Venezuela) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Gentleman & His Music (Audio CD)
Benny Carter is one of the few musicians that maintain in his genetic code this way of express the jazz to the way was played during the fifties. His tune so particular, so expressive, loaded of that febrile excitement and honest conviction that is hard for any listener not be engaged by his sound. All the album is a treat but tomy mind A kiss from you, Blues for George and Idaho are the pearls of the crown. In this opportunity we have to Joe Wilder on trumpet and flugelhorn, Gene harris at the piano, Jimmie Smith drums, John Clayton bass and Scott hamilton tenor saxcophone. Recorded in California, 1995.

I'm so happy when, coming back home, I listen to this CD, very fine like most of Benny Carter's music.
