After finally starting to watch Mad Men, I know I'm a little late to the cocktail party, my friend bought this guide for me. It is eloquent, to the point but not blunt. The illustrations are classic 60's style, I almost want to cut them out and mount them on a mat board, frame them, and hang them around the apartment. The cocktail recipes are almost exactly to my liking and instructions are very easy to follow. My only qualm is that I don't care too much for maraschino cherries, I prefer the real thing, but that's really no big deal. Overall a great buy for a fan of Mad Men, for a guy who likes a properly fitted suit, or appreciates a finely mixed cocktail - like the Old Fashioned I'm currently enjoying as I write my first Amazon review.

First off, this is a very entertaining book to flip through. I bought it as a stocking stuffer for my husband and we had fun reading through it. That said, we haven't tried any of the drinks in it at this time so I can't really rate it on the recipes. There is a vast assortment of cocktails to try with a lot of fun comments and reading intermixed. The book arrived with some bent pages because of the way it was packaged from Amazon, otherwise very happy with this purchase.
