This drive came installed in my last computer purchase, a little over two years ago. For most of the last year, I've had nothing but trouble... it started last September with being unable to play a DVD. I thought maybe I needed to update software or drivers or whatever, but that didn't help. It didn't seem like that big a deal, because I very rarely watch DVDs on the computer, so I let it go. Next, it stopped burning CDs or DVDs. I let that go because I could use my laptop to do what little burning I do, and I purchased an external hard drive to do backups. Now within the last week, it's stopped reading CDs (haven't had a chance to try a DVD). Well, I take that back--it reads the CD, lets me know it's there, but it won't import them to the computer (various errors have popped up) and, after I try, the drive "disappears", Windows doesn't know it's there until I reboot. So to summarize, don't waste your money on this drive. It should last longer than a year, and if you were to have the same troubles I have, you'd be out more money than just the cost of the drive if you count numerous CDs and DVDs ruined while attempting to burn, and the external hard drive I needed when I couldn't burn DVDs to backup important files.

play some dvd`s: hight speed and loud spinning noise. To get replacement,I had to ship it back(pay for back shipping),then ship $5.00 extra for getting another one.Still waiting on it to see if it`s any better one.
