First off, this refurbished print head shipped direct from China. If I had known that, I would not have purchased it. Recycled tech cast-offs (computers, monitors, printers, etc) are sent to China and their methods of reclaiming and refurbishing parts are horrendously unsafe for the Earth and for the people doing the work.

As far as the product itself, print quality is very poor. All black tones have an obnoxious green tint. I should have paid $15 more and gotten a new one. Or paid $30 more and gotten a brand new better printer. But then my old printer would have been recycled to China. Now I have to throw good money after bad to get this problem resolved. This all goes back to the manufacturers making their money on overpriced ink and using the printer itself as a loss leader.

Product did not fix the printer. Do NOT waste your time trying to resolve print head issues with ink jet printers. UNFORTUNATELY, ink jet printers have become a totally disposable item.

I wasn't sure what to expect but apparently this was a refurb. It came packaged in what looked like a "new package" as if I just bought it at the store. I opened up the seal and poped it in. Was printing within a minute and it seems to work great.

The print head is exactly what I needed to resolve my printer problem. Apparently I diagnosed the problem correctly because I noticed at least one other buyer said this turned out not to be the issue. Call it dumb luck? At any rate, I am happy with this product. Although this seller notified me AFTER the purchase that it would be shipped from China, rather than So. Cal. where I thought the company was located (where I live). Be prepared for a 2 week wait.

The product was exactly as advertised, unfortunately it was not the root problem of my printer. But that was my fault for trying to fix a printer based on my own troubleshooting and research.

The average models are made to be thrown away when they have problems, parts are are not worth paying for when you can buy a new printer for only 2x the price of the part.

Lesson learned for me.

Our Pixma printer gets a lot of use in a very dusty environment, so I wasn't surprised when the print quality of our pictures & documents began to get bad. I'm typically very leary of ordering anything refurbished, but I thought I'd try it on this one since the cost was minimal. When the print head arrived it took about 5 minutes to install. Our print-outs have been perfect since then! I was also impressed that the company I purchased it from took the time to add a list of do's and don'ts to keep any print head in good working condition. If I ever need to replace the print head again, I won't hesitate to buy refurbished from this company.

My print quality had degraded over time from normal use and wear. The new print head put new life into the printer. Due to low cost of many printers, you have to get this item on a good sale to make it worth buying it.
