I received my Mango Shaving Bowl about two weeks ago and it is spectacular. Just like the picture it looks amazing. I use Caswell and Massey shave soap in the bowl and it works perfect. Just like any other shave bowl remember to leave the top off so it will dry. So far the finish has stayed in tact and is perfect. As a classic wet shave enthusiast I give great thanks for such a remarkable product.

Beautiful shave bowl. I think it would also make a great jewelry/earring box. It's bigger than I imagined. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It looks great on my dresser; and it's a terrific bonus that it comes from a renewable resource.

Very nice bowl, a variety of soaps fit in it, and it looks nice in my bathroom.

It's beautiful, it works up a HUGE amount of lather, it is easy to clean up, and it holds an entire cake of Col. Conks shaving soap in it's plastic holder. What more could you want?

I ordered two; one was beautiful, one had the lid sealed to the bowl probably from being put on before the finish was dry. So, I began the long ordeal with Amazon to return and order another one. The quality of the third one was unacceptable as the finish was very poor, so, I repeated the return/reorder process. Received the fourth one, and the quality just got worse. I finally stopped trying and so I remain stuck with a gift that I am too embarrassed to give. So unless you have alot of time and don't mind all the challenges with the quality, you may have a 25% chance in getting a good one.

Plain and simple this is a bad product.

One it's not wood, it's a composite, a pressed wood product (sawdust), not a product made from one single piece of wood.

It bleeds it's color into the soap. After placing a puck of Cade shaving soap into this bowl I noticed that the edge of the soap where it touched the "wood" turned dark red. I don't know what is in the finish but it bleeds into the soap and I don't want that dye on my face.

Very quickly it developed a crack in the lower bowl.

This thing is not worth the money they're charging, I honestly wouldn't take this for free.

I wanted to buy just a wooden soap bowl and this one seemed very nice...which it is. It has a glossy look to it and my TOBS soap puck fits perfectly. The lid is also a good fit.

I've been using this bowl for daily shaving for about six months now, and it still looks brand new. Great quality at a great price!

Wood finish overall what I expected-for the most part, what you see is what you get. The one I received has a dime sized blemish on the lid. For what I paid, I can't complain, had I paid much more, I would have been upset about it. The blemish started with the material (a very noticeable defect in the wood...poor material selection) and cascaded into the finish, causing uneveness/roughness both visually and to the touch. The stain work was average at best-swirl marks and/or brush strokes are visible. Again, not surprised for the price. If you are looking for something impecably done, look elsewhere. The final coat is fairly well applied and the wood remains completely water free.

For someone who is just starting out in the world of safety or DE razors, and you are trying to stay on a budget, this is a good buy.

The varnish is lumpy and the lid to bowl fit is very sloppy.

Spend your money elsewhere.
