Product Description

Authentically detailed exactly like the originals invented by Thomas Alva Edison, these bulbs are authentic right down to their looped filaments and hand-exhausted tips. Ferrowatt's historic lamps are just the right finishing touch of authenticity to Victorian and Art Nouveau fixtures.

Create an Edison-Era ambiance with Ferrowatt replica light bulbs. There are eight models to choose from, all made using the original molds used in the early 1900's.

Ferrowatt was founded in late 19th century Vienna, Austria under the name "Watt AG". The lightbulb manufacturing company prospered into the 1930's rivaling such large manufacturers as OSRAM and Philips. These reproductions are genuine Ferrowatts, manufactured to modern safety standards in updated factories.

Movies that have used Ferrowatt antique reproduction light bulbs include "The Illusionist", "The Postman" and "The Green Mile". Additionally, several commercials on British television have featured the Ferrowatt antique bulbs. Ferrowatt bulbs are also used at Disneyland in Hong Kong and Paris and are featured at the Thomas Edison museum in West Orange, NJ.

Love this bulb; it has a nice cool organish light brought out by the old Carbon loop filament. I have bought two of these bulbs - the first lasted me well over 6 months and only burst when my cat knocked the lamp off my nightstand. The second bulb filled with smoke and burnt out the second I first turned the lamp on! Shipping can create some issues when living overseas, I'm sure others have better results. It's a 4 only because of that, otherwise the bulb is fantastic!

These are great bulbs. I have two of them in my bathroom on a dimmer switch. Keep in mind, they do give off quite a bit of heat and they're less efficient than standard incandescent bulbs. These give off about half the light as a standard incandescent of the same wattage (I figured this based on the lumen output). These are really more for decoration than for functionality. In my experience, these tend to have a shorter lifespan than a standard bulb and they are much more fragile. If you happen to tap one of these while it's on, the filament will almost certainly break. A dimmer will extend the life span though.

These trendy bulbs are expensive elsewhere, definitely consider purchasing here if you like the look of an antique bulb. The color of the glow is on the yellow side so it's not for every decor. I love the way these look - probably my favorite of all the "edison" style bulbs with visible filaments.

This bulb is okay. It's not as decorative as some of the other vintage options, but I struggled to find a 60 watt decorative bulb that was as small as a standard medium bulb.

I use it in a smallish fixture on a dimmer. Most of the time, it is on dimly for decorative purposes, but occasionally it is needed for functional, bright light. That's why I bypassed the lower wattage bulbs.
