Stop searching and buy THIS ONE, period.
It's *exactly* the same charger that came with my HP dv2842se, including the plastic feel and weight - OK, the AC part of the cord (removable) is shorter, but the DC part (fixed) is *exactly* the same as the original. No dongles or other connecting parts to lose contact: it's connector is *exactly* like the original one. And, to my surprise, HP *doesn't* have the original charger for my computer anymore, only a new bigger one with a dongle (that will break on you when you need it most). So, want a well built original replacement for your HP dv2000 charger for a fraction of the price HP charges for a *worse* product with a dongle? Forget HP, and buy this one!

An awesome power supply from HP. Light, compact and simple. I used to have an after market multi-use power supply (one of those that comes with a hundred different attachments for every single device you have) well, not great at all. I paid about $100 for it and it always a headache. I think it was from targus. If you ever consider buying it, please don't. It would never charge my laptop and it would turnoff by itself, so I had to unplug it plug about a thousand times every time I would use my laptop. I finally got sick and tired and decided to by something decent. Sure enough found it. Great quality, price and very simple and easy to use. Exactly what a power supply should do. Excellent!!!

The sticker says HP (the product picture is exactly what I was sent), though it's not the same sticker as my original. It looks and feels OEM, and the casing and weight are the same as my original. The 3-prong AC cable is about 18" shorter than my old one, but I am very happy with it so far. I kept the 3-prong AC cable from my old one in case I find the new one to be too short.

Judging by the reviews for this and other similar chargers, buying one of these is a pure gamble. All the favorable reviews say they're great, and all the bad reviews say they stink. I gambled and unfortunately I lost. This charger worked great for 10 days and then it died. I could actually tell it was dying after 9 days (I'd lose power, jiggle the cord, and it'd come back on) but today it died for good.

So if you're trying to decided on buying this, you might as well flip a coin.

Its a cheaper one, kind of generic produc; don't pay to much for it. you can get a generic for less money. I bought this cause i think it was a genuine. It works anyway, and that's why i decided to keep it.

Actually it's not a original hp spare part as it's advertised, the plastic and other materials feel a bit cheaper than the original, but in the other hand the price it's not a original hp price either, so far, it's doing the job that it's intended for, later I'll update this review becouse I'm a little concern about it's durability.

The adapter works wonderfully. It does have a shorter cord than the original AC adapter, but it does just what it's supposed to do. :-)

Great product, worked for my laptop just as described. Much more economical than the name brand, especially for an aging laptop that may not have that much longer to live anyway.

My better half had an old "Lance Armstrong Special" laptop that hadn't been working and didn't appear to be getting any power. When I finally got around to fooling with it, I found the original power cord seemed to be malfunctioning. Figuring that, at worst, I'd have an extra cord for my own laptop, I decided to give this a shot.
For a third of the price of the manufacturer's replacement cord, I have a backup laptop to use for work. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I bought this charger to replace my old one bacause it was giving up. Well this piece of crap gave up. only lasted 2 weeks. It does not wants to charge. im using my old one holding my finger so my laptop charges. i guess i will be buying another charger.
