5.0 out of 5 stars Backsaving Mat! January 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this for the kitchen in my new house that came with ceramic tile floors. Due to injury- standing for a long time on tile is very uncomfortable on my back (and feet, and knees.) I tried this mat as well as one of the $100+ gel mats, and like this mat every bit as much as the more expensive gel mat. I've even given this mat to a few friends and family members as a house warming gift- and all really like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job well at a good price July 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
You can spend a lot more on a mat to stand on while you're working at a job that requires you to stand all day, but I don't see any reason to do so. This mat provides enough cushion to make a real difference vs. standing directly on the floor, but it also feels stable while you're standing on it. I don't feel as if I'm sinking into the cushion or off-balance, but my feet definitely feel better at the end of the day than they did before I started using the mat. After 1-1/2 months use, there are no visible signs of wear or permanent depressions in the cushioning; I think this will last well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the Money February 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Suffering from plantar fasciitis, I ordered a number of mats which are supposed to relieve pressure from the feet. I ordered this one based on good reviews and modest price. I also purchased two expensive types - the Imprint Nantucket and the Gel Pro mats. The Air Step is definitely an improvement over a hard floor and should be considered if on a tight budget. For me, the Imprint mat was by far the best under my aching feet, but it is costly. Am keeping the Air Step and putting it under the bath mat in my bathroom where I get ready each day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great relief for tired, sore feet, knees and back March 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase
The only possible improvement I could suggest would be available colors. Works as advertised, provides cushioning and insulation from cold tile floor, and is priced WELL below the comparable "chef's mats" ... a great deal!

2.0 out of 5 stars Mat Is Good For Light Use, Not Heavy Use June 7, 2012
By LawMan

I purchased this mat in September of 2011, and have been using it until June 2012. I am an attorney who spends an average of 10 hours a day standing. The mat was purchased to combat foot, knee, and lower back pain from when I originally stopped sitting.

When I first started standing at work, I noticed significant foot and lower back pain. I purchased this mat, and it originally alleviated the foot and lower back pain. However, I spend on average 10 hours per day standing at the office, and this mat does not provide the proper support for that amount of use. It is a cheap piece of vinyl that is obviously machine-cut from a much larger piece. These mats are being passed off as anti-fatigue mats, but they were most likely designed for another purpose. The vinyl is not attractive and should not be used where aesthetics are a concern.

Pros:
-The price is low relative to other anti-fatigue mats on Amazon.
-Good for light use, perhaps standing one hour or less at a time.
-The item is durable, and has not broken down after standing on it for nearly a year.

Cons:
-The mat is only 1/4" thick.
-Does not provide proper support for someone standing eight hours or more per day.
-Does not adequately prevent foot, knee, and back pain.
-Made from cheap vinyl and obviously machine-cut off a much longer piece. Looks cheap as well.

Bottom Line:
If you are looking for a piece of material that will offer a low amount of support for a low price, this item is for you. However, don't expect this item to provide relief to your body if you are standing on it for long periods at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GOOD MAT TO BUY!! January 23, 2010
By BigBear

If you stand on your feet all day at work, on a hard surface and go home with sore feet, back, knees or just beat. This mat will make it easier on your body. I work in the deli dept for a big chain food store, they threw out the old fatigue mats 4 months ago and we are still waiting for new ones. So i bought my own. it gave my knees and feet relief from the hard floor at work, everybody loves it! My co-workers may soon be buying their own until our cheap corp bosses get around to buy new ones.I reccomend this mat to anyone on their feet a long time at work! They ship fast too!

4.0 out of 5 stars great quality for the pricepoint July 27, 2011

I work in technology and have a standing-height desk. My feet bothered me until I got this mat. It may not be as epically good as the mats that cost $200, but hey, this is $15! Hmmm maybe I should buy another one and stack them....

5.0 out of 5 stars My feet say 'ahhh' December 16, 2010

I bought this to use in the kitchen while I'm cooking or doing dishes. I haven't owned one of the more expensive ones so I'm not sure how it compares to one of those, but this makes a huge difference in how my feet feel! Way way more comfortable than hard tile. It also grips well to the floor and the edges don't roll up at all (I've had it for about 3 months) -- it doesn't feel like a hazard in the kitchen, unlike every rug I've tried to use to serve the same purpose.

About the color, it's definitely not black. It's a dark gray, but not black. This works out well for me because my kitchen floor is slate, but if you are counting on black, this isn't it!

mat cannot be vacumed by a vacum cleaner. must be done by hand.vacum suction creates condition where vacum gets stuck and could damage mat/vacum cleaner.
