This is the part you need to replace if your car is making a "buzzing" noise when you hit the recirculate button. Very simple to replace.
You'll need:
torx 20 bit + driver
10mm wrench
flat head screwdriver
This is all by memory so YMMV.

1. Start by opening the glove box and removing the 3 torx screws at the top of the glove box
2. Close the glove box and remove the 3 torx screws across the bottom
3. Remove the panel above the ESP button,
4. Remove the torx screw on the passenger side.
5. Remove the panel on the side of the glove box (similar to the fuse panel cover).
6. Slide the glove box out and then disconnect the glove box light, the foot well light, and also the a/c hose that goes into the box
7. Remove glove box completely from car.
8. You should see a panel with some electronics on it. Remove the 2 10mm at the top and move out of the way.
9. There should be a fabric wrapped wire visible. Remove it from clip.
10. Remove the black plastic part the wire was clipped to. There is a clip on top and on bottom.
11. The motor should be easy to remove now, no screws holding it in. Disconnect the plug.
12. Turn ignition on and make sure the recir light is off and the "flap" is down.
13. Install the new motor and voila your'e ready to put everything back together.

Ordered the replacement for my failing flap motor and installed myself in less than an hour. This part is exactly what is needed if you hear a buzzing/vibrating noise from behind the glovebox when you turn the key in the ignition and/or when hitting the "Recirculate" button on your climate control panel. Save money by doing this very basic repair in your own driveway. There are several helpful YouTube videos on this subject as well if you would like a visual aid while you work.

I ordered this part for my 06 Jetta and it was good quality and a perfect match for the OEM part. The irritating noise that I always heard when I started the car is now gone. Thanks.

The part doesn't make noise when attached! The only difficulty I had was taking apart the glove box compartment but that's no fault to the part itself.

If your car is making noises when you turn on your car or when you push the recirculate button then this replacement will fix your issue. Item works great and is easy to replace just watch you tube and save money and stay away from the dealer.

Fit perfectly and was an easy install. Saved me like 300$ from having some one else get the part and install it.

This is a pretty easy install. One thing I would advise is when you remove the panel just at the front of the console an angled T20 Torx comes in quite handy.

A guy posted the steps on here too and he did a good job. There are also some videos on YouTube.

I don't even want to think how much the VAG dealer would have charged me.

Bought this for my 08 Jetta. I usually prefer to buy OEM if I can afford it, but dealerships are typically over-priced. This was NOT the case with Fowler Volkswagen. They had everything I needed in stock and at a great price; they beat my local VW dealer prices (even with shipping)! Fowler Volkswagen’s customer service is outstanding, even assisted me over the phone to change my order when I realized that I had ordered the wrong oil filters. Fowler Volkswagen has restored my faith in car dealerships. I will definitely buy from them again!

Genuine VW parts at a significant savings over local dealerships. Exact match for my '06 GLI. Easy DIY project w/ help from YouTube. New part performs well, and the bothersome buzzing noise from the old motor won't be missed.

This part works exactly as hoped. It was shipped out right away and took my husband 15-20 minutes to replace. No more weird noise when my Jetta starts up!
